The Big Three = Clutch September

One thing's for certain, no matter what happens in the final 8 games of the season:  the big three have been playing clutch baseball for us in the final month of the season.   Whether it's Lee's average, Aram's rbi's or Soriano's HR's, these guys have showed Cubs fans why they get paid the big bucks.

Who are you voting for for player of the month?

Aramis
.301 AVG
.393 OBP.
1.064 SLG
7 HR
18 RBS

Lee
.351 AVG
.425 OBP
27 hits
6 2B's

Soriano
.293 AVG
10 HR's
17 RBI's

You pay for what you get, and without these three, we'd be nowhere.  Add to that the amazing play of DeRosa in September, and the emergence of Geovany Soto, and you have the reason for our recent resurgence and success.

Making the playoffs is all about your big $$ guys play big $$ baseball, and our three have performed as well, if not better than any three in baseball this month.  Clutch performances by clutch players as we chase the playoffs.  Loving it.

Soriano
has been worth every single penny this month. I think he has been our MVP this month, at least -- with Ramirez being a close second.

Ramirez.
He is on fire... we've seen hot streaks like this before, where he hits everything in sight for a few weeks. He couldn't have picked a better time to do it.

Soriano's been good, but IMO Ramirez has been better.

I agree Al -
In fact, I'll go one step farther....Ramirez may be the best clutch hitter for the Cubs I have ever seen (30 years) -

That said, it's like all of these guys have flipped a switch and this team has come into it's own - as a solid, strong chemistry team.  Different guys every game pulling through, with the big three in the lead.  Now, if we can get Z on track, we might be able to beat a team like the Padres should we make it.....

Give Z whatever he Please...NOW!

If
If the Cubs make the playoffs and they continue to hit like this we might be celebrating in October.
This is going to be the fall and winter of our content in Chicago.

My hats of this entire team....
D-Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano have been the leaders, which is why they make the big bucks.  But kudos to the supporting cast as well!  I would personally like to say--and I want to be careful how I word this, because we have not, by any means, won this thing yet--but I have to take my hat off to this team which is showing the heart and fighting spirit that has lacked for most of the year.

I have questioned, as I think most people have, the heart and desire of these guys, because I did not think they had it in them.  I also said that nothing would make me happier than for them to prove me wrong, which is what they have done so far in September.  Better to show heart and fight in September than April and May, right?  Seven games left, guys....you're doing great.  Let's go get it!!

The beginning caption should say,
"My hats off to this entire team".  I'm so excited I can't even type!  :)

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
