Unofficial Brewers/Cards diary?

Well, I don't see a diary started for the brewers cards game, so i guess I'll start one.

As has been thrown around alot, our magic number is 4, and you can see that nice little bear up in the corner telling you that as well.  Let's hope we can get that number down to three.  It looks like

Pujols is going to be in the lineup tonight after doubts about whether he was out for the year, so he'll be shooting for that 3 digit mark in RBI for the 7th straight year, and every year of his great career (although he is a card).

Let's hope the cards can pour it on and play spoiler and the Brewers keep the poor play going.  Let's get to the bullpen early and be 4 games up tomorrow!  Go Cardinals!

Pujols
I didn't notice he also is shooting for 100 runs, but I think he's going to have a tough time getting that in 7 games.

so it appears that the Cards
won't be helping us tonight. I don't think that cards lineup is capable of scoring 4 runs off a AAA team right now.

I don't know...
you could say the same about the Pirates last weekend.  With how many errors they had.  The cards just haven't been anything decent lately.

Wainwright
looks like he couldn't hit Fielder if he tried tonight.  And that's saying a lot.

Brewers in perfect spot...
...to blow another one.

Cards going meekly so far after 2.5 though...this is a depleted STL lineup and Pujols is playing hurt...no Molina and no Duncan, when he get hurt?

Was hoping LaRussa-ites would do us a favor and take this series doesn't look very promising now but Brew Crew can still choke it...

Why the heck...
...is Wainwright still in there??? Is this a Cardinal set-up of us?

by CaughtInTheVines on Sep 24, 2007 8:44 PM CDT reply actions

It would be a setup if they took him out
The Cards have a couple of decent options in their bullpen and Tony isn't going to use them all or any of them tonight.

set-up?
this is more than a set up, its that bitter old drunk in the st. louis dug out getting back at us for beating up on the cards all year

In other playoff news
The Mets are losing 10-3 to the Nationals.

Phillies are only two games back from the East and .5 back from the Wild Card.  Padres game just started.  I hope the Padres stay in contention this week so the will be playing with their lives depending on it this weekend.

What this game proves....
...is that the Cubs can only depend upon themselves to finish this off, which is as it should be. As I write this, it's 12-2, Brewers over the Cards.  in the top of the 7th. The teams the Cubs and Brewers play from here on out are out of it for a reason- they're not that good. So no matter how this season turns out, the Cubs are solely responsible for its outcome.

Yost tossed again ...
Bad call at the plate.  Still ahead, but the lead has been cut; 12-5.
