Another ledendary Chicago sports team, although one in a heap of trouble as far as fan interest is concerned, will be getting a new owner. Bill Wirtz, owner of the Chicago Blackhawks has died.
While I don't really have too much good to say about the man, he did run one of the original 6 hockey teams (some would say he ran them into the ground) and he did build (along with Reinsdorf) the United Center.
His downsides include his stubborness to allow Home games to be broadcast on local TV and his insistance that away games will be shown only on cable.
Anyway...Rest In Peace Mr. Wirtz.
