Around SBN: The cost of firing vs. the cost of retaining head coaches

Prediction: PAIN!

(For the other guys)

Here is lancaster's prognostication for the rest of the season. It's optimistic, so haters, go away.

Cubs 3 @ PIT
Brew 3 @ CIN
HGH Crew 3 @ ARI

Cubs take 2 of 3
Brew take 1 of 3
Cards take 1 of 3

On Monday:
Cubs --
Brew 1
Cards 2

Monday:
Cubs beat Cards
Brew beats Pirates

Cubs --
Brew 1
Cards 3

TUE-THU
Cubs lose 2 of 3 at Houston
Cards win 2 of 3 at Cincy
Brew splits remaining two with PIT

Cubs --
Brew .5
Cards 2

Four gamer at Crappy Light Beer Stadium
Cubs-Cards split 2
Brew take two of three from CIN

Cubs --
Brew 1
Cards 2

Cubs take 2 of 3 from Cincy
Brew lose 2 of 3 from Astros
Cards lose 2 of 3 from PHI

Cubs --
Brew 2
Cards 3

Brew lose 3 of 4 to ATL
Cards split two with HOU
Cubs take 2 of 3 from PIT

Cubs -
Brew - 2.5
Cards - 2.5

Cards then take 2 of 3 from Brew while Cubs split first two with FLA

Cubs -
Cards 2
Brew 3

Cubs split final four games, losing last with Fla and beating Cincy two of three
Cards actually go three of four, but can't make up ground.
Brew gets swept in final four by San Diego, who clinch the West.

FINAL:
CUBS -
Cards 1
Brew 5

The worst is over, guys. The Brew have too many road games and the Cards have too many games, period.

So the optimistic view...
has us winning the Central by one game?  Wow... I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle these last couple of weeks.

I'm already in therapy
Due to the last four weeks of following our boys.  This road map will help tremendously.  Thanks!

Great Post....
I love it...Thank you for this!

All the negativity that has gone on the past few days, this was definitely a refresher!

Good stuff
I pity the fool who can't take 2 of 3.

Love the 'HGH Crew' reference too.

Incidentally
This has us winning 83 games.

Math?
If the Cubs go 2-2 at Busch and the Brewers go 2-1 against Cincy, how do the Cubs gain .5 games on the Brewers?

But all in all, I would say if the Brewers go 9-16 in their final 25 games as this prediction suggests, it surely will be the Cubs division to lose.

(Yes I am a Brewers fan... so let the insults fly.)

Rather
8-15 over their final 23... even worse.

Very attainable
i agree with your outcome. But you know, it willnever happen this way. Someone is going to mess this whole thing up by getting hot. I would never lay any money on this NL central race. It may just blow up!

Your Scenario
While it may be a good one, I won't be around to enjoy it unless Nurse Ratched allows us to turn on the TV set.  This season is killing what little piece of my soul is left.

Nice...
That movie was on AMC last night and I found myself watching it until I fell asleep.  Good times.

cubs
sorry.looking back in history i,ll take the negative approach.im already hearing how the cubs are choking from people that know im a cubs fan.they,re picking a real bad time to play bad ball. and the brewers are heating up.times running out.would be a real feel good story if lou got these guys to the playoffs.

So far, we're on track!
Cubs have to win the next two
Brew and Cards have to split

The plan is still good!
