Nicely done.
It's much easier to fear the unknown.

Regardless of the future, I found the baseball article in the online edition of the NYT interesting.  Starskey & Hutch, oops, Fehr & Selig were called on the drastic increase of ADD exceptions to the stimulant list and appeared to falter.  Didn't want to start a diary, but found the article interesting and current.  (You may need to register).

So Al, when can we expect the
'new' BCB?

Great cartoon, Mike!

Sometime before the end of February.
We are beta-testing now.

Testing
Hi Al--

Let me know if you need any help with the beta. I have instructional design, content development and testing experience.

Looking forward to the new season of BCB!

Thanks for the offer...
... at this time, they've asked us to keep it to the bloggers only. I'll let you know if I need anything.

Ah, Huey. Where for art thou? I recall a comedian back in the 80s (can't remember which one) describing him as "looking like the kind of guy my Dad would hang out with."

Just as an aside...
I came across this little nugget this morning.

Can Rozner really understand this little about the business of baseball, or is he just trying to bait the casual fan?

by Damen Jackson on Jan 16, 2008 9:35 AM CST   0 recs

I think you answered your own question.

re: Just as an aside...
Looks to me like Bruce Miles needs to give his associate a talking to, assuming he disagrees with Rozner's pie-in-the-sky assertions of course. Actually, a point/counterpoint article in which Rozner and Miles debate the feasibility of the trades in question would make for some interesting reading.

Someone please explain...
...why Rozner's proposal, or something similar, is not feasible.  You can do it here on the post I serendipitiously put up on the side.

I'm way more than the "casual fan," but I don't understand why people believe this shouldn't be attempted by the Cubs.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised---totally---to learn that Hendry has looked into it. - TL

I finishing up a conference call..

OK, I'm listening...
what is so wrong with this?
Our grandparents used to say, "I hope the Cubs win the Series before I die". Now the teenagers are saying it.

This is great
My posts aren't messed up enough as it is ( rushed, no spell check etc)? I doubt my computer will even get BetaBCB.
Well I am a PROUD luddite anyway. No cell phone, no drivers
license, no DVD player ( and I work for a company that sells DVDs). I will go back to my cave now.

Al - Have you been tested
for HGH?

We are hearing the new site is going to be roided up.

Wait 'til next year. And the next. And the Next. And the next after that too.

There is a Grilled Chicken restaurant called Torihiro in Urasoe, Okinawa, where all kinds of baseball industry people get together. I found Dome's autograph in Japanese characters on the wall (lower left one, click here to enlarge) when I visit there to celebrate my friend won the regional high school baseball tournament for National Tournament in Koshien on last Sunday.

It is written entirely in Japanese vertically, reads "07.2.14, for Torihiro, Chunichi Dragons, Fukudome Kosuke #1", when he visited the restaurant on his off-day in 2007 Dragons spring training in Chatan, Okinawa.
I was messing around with an image stitching app and came up with this extreme widescreen view of Wrigley (a Dodger game in 2005). I liked the way it turned out and figured I'd share it.

Did anyone see the front page of the Trib. sports section today. There is a huge picture of Favre in a Bears jersey.

Does this totally freak anyone else out? My mind doesn't even know what to do about it.
