Cubs Caravan - Freeport, IL

Tonight I was able to attend the Cubs Caravan in Freeport, IL.  The following Cub's personalities were there:

Star-divide

Len Casper
Bob Brenly
Matt Sinatro
Lou Piniella
Kevin Hart
Jeff Samardzija
Rich Hill
Ryan Theriot

There was a lottery as you walked in for the autographs followed by a question and answer session. Of course kids asked some silly questions and some serious questions.  Lou was put on the spot when asked if Soriano could move to the 5 spot and why Theriot was not lead off man.  Lou said that kid from Japan instead of using Fukudome's name!  One time he slipped it in, but that was it.  Overall it was a fun time, but I'm looking forward to this weekend for the Convention.

I am currently trying to upload a few video clips from the evening and will post them here as soon as I can.

I taped it with my digtal cam and did a quick edit so it wasn't 10 small clips or 25 minutes of clips. Sorry that it is a bit choppy!

Thanks for the video
Sounds like Lou is keeping Soriano in the leadoff spot, if his legs are healthy.

you beat me to it.
I had a couple friends at Western who were Freeport Pretzels. Gotta love that nickname. Definitely better than some random animal.

Polo Marcos
Just south of the Pretzels in Polo there's another great mascot name...the Marcos.  That's right.  They are the Polo Marcos.  Illinois is the home of some of the best nicknames!

Located
It was at the Masonic Temple downtown.  I did enjoy the caravan better in Rockford, but was glad I went last night too.

Thank you for Sharing
I was disappointed that the Cubs Caravan could not be in Rockford this year.  I think at least some of the reason why Freeport was chosen was because of the upcoming opening of Little Cubs Field.  I'm hoping to check that out sometime this summer.
