Cubs Preseason Games In Vegas

Hey guys and gals, hope everyone is as excited as I am for the upcoming season.  I read this site daily since the 2005 season, I just dont post very much.  I am not sure if this is diary worthy, but I didnt know where else to turn.  I go to Vegas every year for the second weekend of the NCAA basketball tournament, missing the Cubs games there by one week each of the last few seasons.  This year, however, the basketball tournament is one week later and I will be out there for the Cubs games.

I was looking for some input about the game in general.  First, what are the ticket prices?  Are they in line with a regular Cubs game at Wrigley?  I went online only to find that there were 2 game packages and season game tickets but no prices associated with either choice.  Also, what is the park like (I think it is Cashman Park??)?  Are there bad seats, good seats, places to avoid?  Al, I know you usually go to Spring Training, but I cant remember if you stay with them through the Vegas trip.  I am looking for any feedback as I plan on going to at least the Friday night game.  Thanks in advance for your collective help.  And as always, Go Cubs!

Cashman Field
I live in Las Vegas and have been to Cashman several times.  There are not really any seats that I would describe as bad.  The capacity is maybe 6000, so there aren't too many seats that aren't going to give you a good view of the game.  Normally it's nice to get a seat under the shaded plaza area behind home plate, but I don't think it will be hot enough in late March for that to be necessary.

I don't know what the tickets will cost when they are available (right now they're only available to Las Vegas 51s season ticket holders).  I do know that if you don't get a ticket early, the only tickets that will be left will cost over $100.  But if you act early, the cheapest tickets will be $30-$40.  Last year the Friday night game featured a lot more of the big-league roster, so that is the only game I will be attending.  The Saturday game last year started with what was essentially the opening day starting lineup, but by the 3rd or 4th inning it was mostly no-name minor leaguers.  It took Len and Bob literally 2 or 3 minutes to figure out who the new pitcher was at one point.

Only 6,000?
I was sure they had drawn at least 12,000 or so to the games last year.

Cashman Field is bigger
Cashman Field, a 9,334 permanent seat stadium, serves as the home field for the Las Vegas franchise for the past quarter-century (1983-2007). The facility saw its first professional baseball game on April 1, 1983, when the San Diego Padres faced the Seattle Mariners in front of 13,878 fans. The Cashman Field attendance record was set on April 3, 1993, before a crowd of 15,025, between the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs. Las Vegas hosted the Triple-A All-Star Game on July 11, 1990. The National League defeated the American League, 8-5, before a crowd of 10,323.

Oops
Seeing the 9,334 number reminds of the actual capacity.  When I posted I was estimating (poorly) the capacity based on the size of the place.

I'm pretty sure they sell tickets to sit in the grassy areas by the foul polls during the Cubs games, and they can set up a lot of additional seating in the outdoor club level area.  12,000 is probably a much more accurate estimate for the number of tickets available.

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
