Canseco Allegedly Tried Extorting Ordonez

The New York Times is reporting that the FBI looked into allegations that Canseco tried to extort Magglio Ordonez into financing a movie project in exchange for not being named in Canseco's upcoming book.

Yep. "Vindicated," all right. Canseco is pretty much setting flame to any good will he may have had after "Juiced" came out. This is what it looks like to watch a man put the last of his credibility up for wholesale.

This makes no sense
He barely played with the guy. Also, Ordonez doesn't look like a person on steroids. He is a good solid .300 hitter who hits around 30 home runs a year, nothing eye popping about that.

I think Cansesco just wants to keep his name in the spotlight now. He got the people who actually did do  steroids, now he isn't in the spotlight especially after the Mitchell Report. He wants back in...

Not so sure
Lets not forget that little trip Ordonez took for unconventional treatment over to Europe when he had some physical problems.

i think going by the "look" test
has been repeatedly proven ineffective...

i mean Alex Sanchez, Brian Roberts, Andy Pettite??? None of those guys "look" like they've been juicing

people forget most athletes are using the steroids not to necessarily get "bigger" but so they can recover faster

guys coming off of major degenerative injuries are ideal candidates to be interested in steroids

I agree.

I also feel that it's not unreasonable to be suspicious of any MLB player.

Ordonez
went to Europe to get his knee worked on because the type therapy he got is not offered in the states.  iirc it was some kind of sound wave therapy that is supposed to help tissue regenerate or something like that, it's not approved for use here.  Beyond that I wouldn't make the assumption that he went overseas for anything else, PED's or not.

For Canseco to be running around like this accusing people is simply ridiculous.  Extorting money, if it's true, is criminal, lazy and juvenile.

C'mon Al, if ever there was a reason to name call it's with this guy.  Let me call him a jackass, please!  ;)

LOL
Nope, I think we can do better. Are there any photos around of Canseco dressed like a rabbit?

Unfortunately
I dont have any reason not to believe Canseco.  Its very well that he was instructed to keep some info out of the first book for the sake of a second book.

In other steroids news...
...our federal government in all its majesty cannot find Chuck Knoblauch. There is speculation that he is headed for Canada.

Priceless.

Speculation, or jokes...
...based on a Harrison Ford movie. Kill me now.

But still: Chuck Knoblauch is evading the law as we speak.

Um...
... that Canada thing IS a joke, or did you miss the "Fugitive" reference (US Marshal Gerard)?

It took a bit longer than it should have.
You'll note I corrected it above.

But still: Johnny Law isn't going to bring Chuck Knoblauch down!

Although to be fair, if he tries to run off to Canada he'll probably end up in Mexico.

Conseco finally set a record
jackass-to-respectable-to-jackass-again in record time.seriously, what goes through this man's head in a given day? is he that desperate for attention or that stupid? He makes Barry Bonds look almost sympathetic...

You said...
... "is he that desperate for attention or that stupid?"

Answer: Yes.
