Exhibition games
It would be interesting to think up some other fun ways that the HOF game could be continued.
Perhaps make it an "oldies" game. It would be fun to see some retired ballplayers out on the field, perhaps even the crop of new inductees.
Or, what about split the future stars game out of the All Star game and move it to the HOF game
Finally, what about making the game count, then make it a rematch of the WS or some other enticing game.
It seems like a great way to connect baseball to its history (even if doubleday had nothing to do with inventing baseball, it makes a good story).

I agree.
This game will likely feature starters from both teams for three innings, then a selection of minor leaguers. The Cubs are in Toronto the weekend before, then head to Tampa. The Padres are at Cleveland the weekend before, on their way to NYC to play the Yankees.
