OT: smart phones and mlb

I know this is pretty self-serving, but as elementary school teachers such fans of telling their students, if you have a question, someone else probably has it, too.  So, here goes:

I am finally buying a smart phone of some sort.  I've narrowed it down to a Blackberry, the new Samsung on Verizon that runs Windows Mobile, and the iPhone.

Does anyone has any experience with MLB gameday (just the online live stats, not the audio or video) on a smart phone?  This is pretty much the main reason I'm buying a more sophisticated telephone.

Thanks!

I've used Gameday...
... on a regular cellphone (Samsung A900). Works just fine there. I assume it'd be the same, or better, on a smartphone.

And you specifically didn't ask about this...
...but the Gameday video should be working on Windows Mobile at some point this year, I think. The iPhone is a possibility as well.

Do you have a link...
... to info on Gameday video on Windows Mobile?

I know that Gameday is a...
...test ap for Silverlight on Windows Mobile. There's been no new info on it since the Mix '07 conference that I can find.

And...
... the video on that site is no longer available. Oh, well.

I have an iPhone...
...and there are more and more web applications coming out for the iPhone, not to mention when the SDK gets announced there will be apps and native apps abound.  Pickleview is a web app developed and paired with Twitter and I think is better than MLB's Mobile Gameday.  It is better to look at, more interactive, you can easily switch teams and see ALL scores on one page, and also has college football and NFL applications.  I used this religiously last season.

MLB's Mobile Gameday:

Pickleview (only for iPhone):

More Pickleview stuff:

Hope this helps and lemme know if you have any more questions.

iphone
Do you know about actually watching games live with the iphone?  I used mlb tv last year on a desktop but would love to watch them on a mobile phone.  I tried to find out if this is possible, etc but have not found anything definitive.

Thanks for any info...

Not possible right now...
...can't stream video with iPhone unless it is "YouTube" material.  The SDK (software development kit) is supposed to be released soon (rumored it has already been released to selected developers, like EA Games) and that will bring about a whole new collection of games, software, programs, etc.  A lot of this stuff is possible with a jailbreaked iPhone, but is both tricky and risky to do.  But to answer your question, no, not possible right now on the iPhone.  I would recommend waiting 4-5 weeks.

just one warning about windows mobile phones
A lot of people have problems with them crashing and slowing down after a few months of use. Make sure you read up on reviews and feedback just to make sure it is the type of phone for you. They are more powerful, but you do have to maintain them.
