It IS a playoff game . . .

But 2 runs is not much for this team. Really, this game should have been tied two innings ago with the way Demps came out of the gate. Way too much nerves. Just plug away and tie it first, then we will talk about getting on top again.

Does anyone else seem the remember the big second-inning homer? 2 runs is lots of early momentum in the postseason.

…LA should probably have more along the lines of 7-10 runs right now.

Meanwhile, our offense will panic and swing at everything thrown at them.

I'm serious

Having one of your best pitchers limp through halof of the game doesn’t exactly lead to a relaxed offense. I mean, I would be thrilled if the offense could recover the way they did after Zambrano’s last start; but this being the first game of the post season, I don’t see it happening.

by rrtycoon2 on Oct 1, 2008 7:32 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I didn't like this ump from the moment he was announced.

Someone last night posted ump ratings and this guy has one of the tightest strike zones in the league. And with Demp’s effective wildness, I didn’t think it would bode well. But I thought the Cubs would be more patient with Lowe.
