Sunny and 75 degrees in chicago

This afternoon’s game would be perfect if held at Wrigley.

I thought I got over it, but your comment sure brought the pain back...

Ouch.

Why can the Phils score 4 runs after two outs off of Billingsly?

Dobbs singles, Carlos Ruiz doubles, Myers even gets a hit, then Rollins and Victorino singles.

Oh, well…go Phillies…

Knock knock, anyone home?

Anyone brave enough to hang out at the Cubs board?

Just got back from the pub (remember it’s past 10pm here) where I had a few Guinness (damn those things just taste better over here) and also watched England defeat Wales in soccer football. About to crack another beer open from the fridge.

I think this is a game thread of some sort, in that case, go team go!

We need Manny!!!

We need need someone that can hit good quality starters like Hamels and Myers. Unlike anyone in our lineup.

Ballparks

Besides Wrigley Field, Dodger Stadium is my favorite ballpark. It’s hell to get in there but once you’re there it’s the American Dream.

Nomar looked terrible

on that last at bat. Geez, Soriano takes better swings than he did.

Good game though.

I liked the way the Dodgers came back and made a game of it.

Guess I'm the only one watching tonight.

My heart’s still broken it’s not the Cubs, but I still love baseball.

I'm watching some baseball tonight.

I think this Red Sox-Rays series could be really good.

No doubt.

I’m rooting for the Rays because the Sox have had a lot of success the past few years, and the Rays really came out of nowhere this year. What a story they are. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Sox win though. Hope it goes 7 games!

Here's to a competitive series.

The way these teams have played against each other all year bodes well for a solid series. I like the youth versus experience aspect to this series, too.

Wow

Great game so far. Dice K has a no-no through 6.

Lost his nohit bid in the 7th.

Boston still leads 1-0 top of the 8th.

As he has all year long.

He’s like the starting pitcher version of Joe Borowski. How he has done it for so long is beyond me.

Buster Olney said a few days ago that the Braves would entertain offers for their 26 year old shortstop (who makes 450k) Yunel Escobar. He is a plus bat, a solid defender, and would move Theriot to his more appropriate position at second.

They are looking for a bat in return. Apparently Cox doesn't like the guy.

I couldn't even speculate what we'd have to send them in return, but I think he would be a good fit given his low salary, his productive bat, his position, and his age. I don't care if he's a jerk if he makes the team win more.

What would it take?
