Should be a good game.

Actually it should be a good game

it’s just hard to get excited about. I will watch it but not enjoy it.

How can you not root for Jaime Moyer....

45 years old and 246 career wins. This for a guy that the Cubs got rid of in the Mitch Williams trade and who was toiling around between the minors and the bigs until his late 20’s until finding himself for a season in Baltimore before going onto great things in Seattle.

I have been channel surfing and must have missed something

why in the world did Kuroda throw at Victorino? The announcers were referring to “something” that already happened earlier. Did someone throw at Manny?

Myers threw at Manny last game - and there was lots of grumbling from the Dodgers

Not sure in what order this happened tonight, but Kuroda threw one over Victorino’s head and Moyer threw one inside on Martin. Victorino was a bit demonstrative – he yelled back at Kuroda and pointed at his ribs, then his head, as if to say if you’re going to throw at me, go for the body, not the head.

Then he grounded out and Kuroda was in the vicinity of 1st base covering on the play so Victorino had a few more words for him. Benches emptied, Manny had to be restrained, Davey Lopes was really livid, but of course, no punches were thrown, so once again, it was much ado about nothing….

God, I’m glad it’s hockey season!

Haha..

What’s the record for the lowest number of comments on a main-page post?… and the locked comments ones don’t count.

Funny how almost no one gives a crap enough about baseball now (me included) to log on and post anything about the game.

go ahead, laugh now, but just you wait...

one of these games, I just might hunker down in front of the computer and the tv, crack open a few cold ones, have some nice Art’s deep dish pizza at my side, and then hijack the game thread and post comments left and right.

Yeah, I can see it now… I’ll mispronounce (mistype) names, make a bunch of references to my playing days, and in general act like a know-it-all. And of course, I won’t expect the rest of you to understand what I post, because quite frankly, I crap more about baseball than you’ll ever know.

Yep, I feel a case of the Joe Morgans coming on… anyone want to be my Jon Miller sidekick? ;-)

I would way rather be Jon Miller than Joe Morgan.

But really I want to be Ron Santo. I stopped playing in college so does that count? Jeez, oh come on! That umpire has been terrible all year. Gosh. OH Jeez., a fastball? (Just practicing) I’ll be watching all these games so I’ll be gathering up all the “Gladys Oleander from Winnetka is here celebrating her 90th birthday. Hope you enjoy the game, Gladys.” list of color comments to offer up.

Buster Olney said a few days ago that the Braves would entertain offers for their 26 year old shortstop (who makes 450k) Yunel Escobar. He is a plus bat, a solid defender, and would move Theriot to his more appropriate position at second.

They are looking for a bat in return. Apparently Cox doesn't like the guy.

I couldn't even speculate what we'd have to send them in return, but I think he would be a good fit given his low salary, his productive bat, his position, and his age. I don't care if he's a jerk if he makes the team win more.

What would it take?
