Well

I don’t see the Sox losing with Lester on the mound…and especially with Garza throwing against them. I watched him a lot in Minnesota, but never really took a liking.

And throwing Lowe on three days’ rest looks like a smart move from Torre so far. A bad Lowe is better than a good Blanton, right?

Looks like the two teams I don’t want to win are gonna tonight. Good thing Heroes is on and I just downloaded Entourage.

Is anybody else sick and tired...

…of that horrible “That’s why I Love This Town” song on TBS. I HATE IT!!

I haven't had the sound on for TBS or FOX since the playoffs started

can’t stand the commercials or the announcers. I’ve listened to every game on one of the XM radio feeds and synced it with the TV.

Tommie Agee was out.

I'm thinkng about doing a scene-by-scene

of Heroes tonight. Anyone? I mean, no one’s been talking about baseball in these gamethreads, anyway…

please create a separate fanpost for that

it’s bad enough trying to understand Stockton – and you want to add in commentary about Heroes? Might as well throw in a bunch of stuff about Lost as well.

Oh com'on ballhawk

You and I have been here long enough, I’d like to think you know I’m joking! These game threads have been empty, and I was just messin’ around.

And LOST rules, but if you wanna talk THE WIRE, I’ll go all night.

now you got me thinking...

maybe these non-Cubs game threads could be ‘branded’ ahead of time, i.e. assigned a theme.

for example, every post has to include a relevant quote from Seinfeld. Or written as a famous broadcaster would mangle say it (Santo, Caray, Kiner etc.). Or WWDD (what would DeNiro do)…

I like it.

Some movie theme, television show, maybe a Styx-related game thread?!

Well

I’m glad to be wrong.

Devil Rays shelled the Sox, 9-1, and Lowe just threw some shit in the dugout, he’s so pissed about giving up 2 runs in the first. Go Blanton!

I hate seeing Juan Pierre's little head in any MLB uniform

But I love seeing him thrown out stealing.

He made it look not even close.

I thought he was supposed to be speedy to make up for his lack of hitting and weak arm.

Tommie Agee was out.

by Weeghman Park on Oct 13, 2008 8:28 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah. I thought so too. He actually had another hit taken away from him by Dobbs.

I don’t think the Dodgers want him next year, but I believe he has 3 more years on his contract.

I like Furcal, but I'm jealous that we don't have him. Now Manny is up with two on and

no one out. Shoot. I never liked the Dodgers (to say the least) and I lived in LA for a long time. They nauseate me. Please stop the Dodgers from scoring….

and Geoff Jenkins up to pinch-hit….and here comes a new pitcher….

only if the Dodgers lose in the bottom of the 9th on a heartbreaker.

Maybe Juan Pierre can make a throwing error in the top of the 9th to let in the winning run…

I'm interested why you would like them.

Manny? Juan Pierre? Kemp?

I think they have some cool young players….Loney, for example.

I like their manager. And I love Vin Scully. But that’s about it.

Manny is a good player

But I’m more just in awe of him. Furcal is such a fun player to watch. Broxton is also fun when he pitches. Joe Torre has to actually manage now, turns out he is pretty good at it.

I'll admit to being a late arrival to the Joe Torre bandwagon

I thought he slept through a good portion of those Yankee championship years, but he proved how good he was at the end and again this season.

Even though I think Philly and Tampa have the better teams...

…I just realized I want to see the Dodgers and Red Sox advance to the World Series.

Why? Because I can’t wait to see Manny jack one out of Fenway. Fox is definitely going to have to have their crowd noise mikes on 6 second delay…

I think Manny's a f-ing dog.

One of the top three hitters of my generation – Bonds, Gwynn, Manny – but there’s no f-ing way he was injured this year with the Red Sox. Just no way. Read the Simmons article, I’m not sure if I dislike Boras or Manny more after that.

The smaller the market, the better, at least for me. Let’s go Phils and Rays.
