un....fucking...believable

I’m sorry about my language but this is so fucking cliche.

Theriot can’t make a play, botches a DP
DeRosa can’t handle an easy DP
Lee cant fucking hit or fucking field when it COUNTS

2008 Cubs: Who needs nine innings, when you only need a 7th?

by Chanman25 on Oct 2, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

I'll forgive Theriot.

He got outfoxed by a superior manager.

DeRosa and Lee are wastes of space.

Pluto will always be a planet to me!

DeRosa can at least hit in clutch situations and is a veristile fielder

D-Lee is the opposite of clutch this season. He’s been only really great at fielding and he can’t even do that tonight

I try to be positive...

But give me a reason. I’m just not feeling it tonight, they’ve given me no reasons.

derrek lee has got to be traded....

one of the most mental weak players I have ever watched

And what a shame it is...

He has everything but clutch ability.

I wouldn't say that

but he is past his prime, only 90 RBIs as the #3 hitter for the team that scored the most runs in the NL?

by JPetey on Oct 2, 2008 9:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Pinella didn't

misplay those routine infield hits.

No.....but he doesbn't...

have the prima donnas relaxed and ready to play … much unlike his counterpart in the 1b dugout

The best defense is a good offense.....Lou Pinella...still hasn't led the Cubs to a post season win

by kcjones on Oct 2, 2008 9:31 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

put yesterdays game on Lou

or at least leaving demp in too long, but not this game, he is fine

by JPetey on Oct 2, 2008 9:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

You know, I haven't seen them play like this all year long.

I don’t understand what’s going on.

There’s still time though, everyone needs to stop hanging their heads and play ball!

It ain't pinella's fault

this year or last year. This offense falls apart. I know the scoreboard will show the dodgers scoring 7 last night and probably about the same tonight and the focus will be on the pitching. But it is the offense’s inability to give our pitchers any margin of error in the playoffs. and if soriano and lee can’t get it done when it matters then good riddance.

by BeltwayCubsFan on Oct 2, 2008 9:24 PM CDT   0 recs

not tonight though

Hope the rest of the team continues to do so, too.

Need a Kerry Wood, 2003, Game 7 Moment

Only one thing will jumpstart this offense: Homer by the Big Z. The professional hitters won’t do. So lets say Z gets 2 or 3 back himself… that will wake people up.

Disagree......

At least got them past the Wrigley’s who didn’t give a 4 letter word that rhymes with truck……

It’s got them competitive…it’s got the fans to care……though….we’re STUCK with a few of these guys for a while…

The best defense is a good offense.....Lou Pinella...still hasn't managed the Cubs to a post season win. D. Lee still doesn't have a post seasson RBI/Run scored for Cubs...ditto for Soriano
