I've been drinking.

Pre-game and before the 2nd it was to get juiced… since then it has turned therapeutic.

All is well!

Pay no attention to that scoreboard!

Some changes will have to be made after this season – several of these players shink from big spots. Derrek Lee, in particular, is embarrassing himself.

+1

It turns out that he is neither a leader nor clutch.

by wsunick on Oct 2, 2008 10:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

+1 just because he talks to the leader does not make him a leader

Every player should be accorded the privilege of at least one season with the Chicago Cubs. That's baseball as it should be played - in God's own sunshine. And that's really living."

by DC Cubbie on Oct 2, 2008 10:18 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

wow...

Kosuke for 3 more years
Soriano for ?6 more years?
even Ramirez and Lee for 3-4 more?

all of these players with no-trade clauses (excluding KF), but if we’re going to win, it’s going to have to be with these guys…..here’s to hoping ‘experience’ pays off someday

by LuisSalazar on Oct 2, 2008 10:10 PM CDT   0 recs

Soriano still performs in the season

look at what he did with 2 DL stints……so he worries me the least….better hope Vitters pans out quickly

Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.

by bren on Oct 2, 2008 10:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

soriano hits bad pitchers

good pitchers can get him out, and thats all you see in the playoffs

by JPetey on Oct 2, 2008 10:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

the player who is embarrassing himself the most

is fukudome. he looks downright stupid facing any kind of a breaking ball low and away and seems to strike out every ab.

by gocubsgoradio720 on Oct 2, 2008 10:10 PM CDT   0 recs

We've got them right where we want them!

wondering if I’d cry if we won it all… Now I wonder if I’ll cry when we don’t even get there.

I was talking about this the other day too

I really hope we can turn this series around so I can find out

by wsunick on Oct 2, 2008 10:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

No kidding

while re-reading that I realized how melodramatic it sounded… But its true… I am still holding out hope, but, I mean seriously? Can this happen again? I sure hope not.

fair enough

but seriously, does it really matter who is doing play-by-play…isn’t our play enough to make you sick without stockton or darling?

by gocubsgoradio720 on Oct 2, 2008 10:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

They are the spoiled mayo

They don’t turn this around they’re gonna need to sedate Ronny…

the dodgers are just way better than the Cubs

yeah the Cubs are playing like crap but I dunno how much of a shot we had even playing well.

the pink hat guy is my father

by joeschmitt on Oct 2, 2008 10:22 PM CDT   0 recs

Are you serious?

The Dodgers=mediocre

The Cubs=suck (right now)

by LerxstCub on Oct 2, 2008 10:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

what about the dodgers is mediocre?

great starting pitchers, great power (66 HR in 55 games with Manny)

the pink hat guy is my father

by joeschmitt on Oct 2, 2008 10:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

They are on a hot streak

right now just like the Astros were a few weeks ago. That stuff happens but they are not a good team. Manny is a great hitter but that’s about it. Teams play over their heads sometimes and that’s what the Dodgers are doing at the moment. Remember the 2003 Marlins?

by LerxstCub on Oct 2, 2008 10:28 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Nope...

But they will be playing in the NLCS barring an abrupt change from the Cubs

The best defense is a good offense.....Lou Pinella...still hasn't managed the Cubs to a post season win. D. Lee still doesn't have a post seasson RBI/Run scored for Cubs...ditto for Soriano

by kcjones on Oct 2, 2008 10:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

-1

We finished 13 1/2 games ahead of them.

by wsunick on Oct 2, 2008 10:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

you guys are all judging the dodgers pre-manny

they have been on fire with manny. he really changes a lineup

the pink hat guy is my father

by joeschmitt on Oct 2, 2008 10:26 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I don't have the numbers

but they definitely have not been “on fire”
They played well in September but not in August

by wsunick on Oct 2, 2008 10:27 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

they didnt even play anyone in September

toughest opponent was the Diamondbacks

by bheidge on Oct 2, 2008 10:29 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

what was their record after Manny got there

they are a completely different team since he joined them

by JPetey on Oct 2, 2008 10:26 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

exactly

they hit 66 HR in last 55 games. that is sick.
