DeRosa blogs before and after Game 1
Mark DeRosa - the epitome of "TEAMMATE" - has blogged four times in the last week about being division champs, preparing for the playoffs, gametime butterflies, and post-game 1 analysis.
DeRosa is one of my favorite players, was eligible in four fantasy positions this year, and may soon be eligible in QB (joining the elite 2-sport fantasy ranks of Ocho Cinco, LeBron James, and Jeff Samardzija) or even RP at the rate our bullpen is going (sarcasm). His value on this team - and in my 2nd place fantasy team - is quite undervalued. And he's a decent blogger to boot.

PS - This is FanPost #183 about Game 1. And expected to be a few laughs away from the drivel that is Game 1 bitching.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation, Bleed Cubbie Blue, or Al Yellon, editor-in-chief. FanPost opinions are, however, valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Thanks.
You probably could’ve posted this as a Fanshot, but whatever…I’ve officially given up trying to keep up with all of the fanposts that are popping up.

I think I missed the
“National Post a Diary Day” memo.
This is definitely Fanshot material, but so many other threads posted today could’ve just been comments in another thread.

WHO GIVES A SHIT
We are a bunch of Cubs fans who have a lot to say after a horrible loss and very nerve racking Game 2. I am pretty sure that I am not the only one out there today that is having a hard time getting anything done at work. If someone wants to post something that Derosa wrote on his blog, that may help my afternoon go by a little smoother, who the hell cares where they put it. If your response is that is slows the website down, well guess what, this site has been slow as hell ever since it went to the new format. That isnt going to change.

Dero,
He is hands down the MVP of this team. I mean seriously the guy went through all the preseason talk of adding Roberts, a year in which he just about played every position possible for the good of the team!! In my eyes and many others I am sure he is what being a Cub is all about!!
All things great in 2008!!

I feel like all it takes is one momentum shift for us to bang out three quick wins.
Hell, YEAH!

I didn't see it
But one of my buddies said that after the game, they showed the Cubs players going into the tunnel, and Derosa was sitting on the bench by himself just staring straight ahead like he couldn’t believe what just happened. I’m sure he was already thinking about what they could’ve done better as a team, and what he could’ve done better himself. The guy just straight up gets it.

Confirmed.
TBS showed the Cubs dugout immediately after the third out and that’s absolutely correct. DeRo was sitting there with a combination of pain and disbelief on his face.

I heart DeRosa.
Note the lack of the Pessimist Posse here.

Mark DeRosa is MVP of the Cubs in 2008
No question in my mind.
Oh please let this dubious bullpen be good enough in the playoffs...
