Hey Sue...
Meant to ask earlier…did you really catch an 18 lb Northern Pike? Where at? I caught a few 40" before but never weighed them. That was in Canada.

It was in Canada.
My husband caught a 21 pounder. That was all we caught was Northern. It was a camp we had to fly into.
by sue369 on Oct 2, 2008 10:13 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
That's awsome!
I believe my 40" should be around 20lbs…don’t know for sure. Pike can be pretty skinny. I go to Eagle Lake usually. Great fishing and nice lodges there. Went on a few fly-ins too. Those are fun.

The lake we
were on was Molson Lake. The camp was run by Indians. They had no electricity, everything was generators. At 10 pm the lights went off. The only heat we had was a wood stove that the Indians put wood in in the mornings. It got really cold during the night. The food was great too.

Good times!
The only fly-in’s I’ve done have been one day deals from the lodge. Not exactly roughing it, but excellent fishing tho. Just talking about Canada is wetting my appetite for some Walleye!

Z’s pitching well and the infielders are acting like this is a Monday night slow pitch softball game the way they are fielding. It hurts me to the bone that this team has been so dominant for 6 months to see it end this way. It may not be over, but we need a miracle. A Soto-esque long ball comeback. Positivity is fine, but delusions of grandeur are another.

Have a good one, ladies and gents.
Look, tonight might not work out the way we hoped, but momentum is as good as that day’s starter. Harden in Game 3 is a good way to start.
This year has been historic for the Cubs, so battling back from this potential 2-0 deficit isn’t out of the question.
I’ll catch you all tomorrow.

If they come back and win tonight… or come back from 2-0, I will recant everything.
I will do the following:
- Accept Jesus Christ, Tom Cruise, Allah, Buddha and Jehovah as my saviors.
- Give up ice cream

- Buy sue 6 dozen roses

I don't either...
but hearing Billy sing cheered me up a lil bit.

Is that enough bloops?

I wish Lee would not swing at those low and away pitches.

D-Lee
First pitch strike every time. Right down the middle. He just can’t get the bat off his shoulder.

a lot of warning track power there.

Tragic all over again...
There’s really nothing more to say. Each of the three errors accurately summarize the disease that infects this team at playoff time. Every time this team just puckers up and dies. And does so in spectacular flaming Hindenburg style fashion.
Carlos Zambrano? Actually did a quality and stoic job for the most part.
Oh please let this dubious bullpen be good enough in the playoffs...

They are uber aggressive at the plate again
This guy is pretty good…but they are swinging at a lot of pitches out of the zone.

Yep
As much as I like Mark DeRosa he killed this team tonight with the error and the inability to get Rafael Furcal on that throw.

Don't think he had a chance on the Furcal hit.

Utterly depressing
I really did expect a win tonight. I just don’t see them winning three in a row with the way they are playing thus far. Harden can throw a gem, but if they can’t score any runs, what’s the point? Well, off work in another 45 minutes. It’s going to be a crappy drive home. I’m still holding onto a very tiny shred of hope for this series, but it is extremely frayed.

Question for the veterans
I’m still pretty relatively young to baseball (5 years or so) compared to some of you guys, and I was discussing this with one of my Cubs-loving pals the other day… how early is too early for Rally Caps?
by Caheisey on Oct 2, 2008 10:51 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
In this case, it's never too early for a rally cap.
