Cubs were down 9-1.

Lou pulled DLee, Soto, and Ramy.

Cubs won 10-9.

Hey Sue...

Meant to ask earlier…did you really catch an 18 lb Northern Pike? Where at? I caught a few 40" before but never weighed them. That was in Canada.

by Bump Bailey on Oct 2, 2008 9:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

It was in Canada.

My husband caught a 21 pounder. That was all we caught was Northern. It was a camp we had to fly into.

by sue369 on Oct 2, 2008 10:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That's awsome!

I believe my 40" should be around 20lbs…don’t know for sure. Pike can be pretty skinny. I go to Eagle Lake usually. Great fishing and nice lodges there. Went on a few fly-ins too. Those are fun.

The lake we

were on was Molson Lake. The camp was run by Indians. They had no electricity, everything was generators. At 10 pm the lights went off. The only heat we had was a wood stove that the Indians put wood in in the mornings. It got really cold during the night. The food was great too.

Reminds me of the many times I spent up in Alaska. Fun.

Good times!

The only fly-in’s I’ve done have been one day deals from the lodge. Not exactly roughing it, but excellent fishing tho. Just talking about Canada is wetting my appetite for some Walleye!

I love Walleye.

I love pan fish too.

by sue369 on Oct 2, 2008 10:51 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Walleye is my fave ...

And I always have some Crappie in the freezer. Pike’s not too bad either.

My husband is

going fishing in the morning. Just a small lake about 40 miles north of us.

by sue369 on Oct 2, 2008 10:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I could have gone to Canada Monday...

expenses paid….but I wouldn’t miss this for anything; regardless of the outcome. Also, it’s getting too damn cold up there already.

No doubt it

is cold up there. I turned our furnace on last night. I know I’m a sissy.

Don't blame you...

I’m just outside Chicago and had mine on last night too…upper 30’s is cold to me.

Pan fishing?

There’s a small one near me that has some nice Catfish….Good eating too IMO, but not for everyone.

The thing that makes me frustrated is

Z is pitching really well, but the defense is the reason why the game is 5-0 and not 0-0

Here's my problem with the naysayers.

It’s not that my heart isn’t broken too, but jeeze louize, those crybabies are freakin’ crazy.

Now let’s see the rest of the game….and get some runs.

Thing is

There isn’t anything GOOD to say about this game so far. Regardless of how optimists want to portray it, reality has to win through.

Those saying the series is over already are idiots. But this start is just brutal

Okay, you've got a thread for the pessimists, realists or whatever you want to call yourselves

Sue tried to set up a post for the rest of us, and you came and crashed it.

In other words, you couldn’t just be miserable. You had to try to spread it to others.

And we’re the ones that are sad?

Look in the mirror.

If you want to be “realistic” on the main thread, do so.

Don’t come in here and do it, though. This specifically for those who are trying to be positive.
