Just Pathetic
I got flamed pretty badly last night. And I'll be the first to say that my tone was affected by my frustration.
And while I won't use the "g" word again, I will stick to my general assertion. This team doesn't have what it takes to win a championship.
You can call it "finding ways to to lose", "head not in the game", whatever you want. But going 3 for 30-something with RISP...your game 1 starting pitcher walking 7 in 4.2 innings...or your 3 time gold-glove first baseman booting a ball and circling around looking for the ball..there is no silver lining here.
For all of you who said "they just had a bad game" last night, and tonight after the 2nd inning were probably saying "they just had a bad inning", I think the implication (or hope at least) , was they would bounce back strong as they have done all year. Maybe even get mad. Maybe show some fire. But they didn't. They look terrible and have managed only 2 hits.
Something has to be done, and I'm not sure what. IMO we need to swap out some of the DNA and try some new blood. You can see what Manny and Blake have brought to the Dodgers - well we need some of that next year. I don't know where you get it, and who you give up. But I hope they find a way.

Go ahead man
let it out, we all feel the pain
Yes they might go down 2-0 going into LA, but with Harden and (hopefully) Lilly pitching, we might still have a chance man,
For now, just drink the pain away, like me.

Think of it like this
Harden is going to pitch excellent.
Lilly has been great.
We can win 2 games. We go back to Chicago and Dempster will want redemption. The season is not over until we are out of it.
And if this makes anyone feel better, we have a better chance of winning the next three than Milwaukee :)
im so pissed right now
and really dont think there is any chance we can come back from this but you neveer know
harden could win tomorrow with a strong outing
then lilly could have a hell of a game in game 4 and sumhow try and find a way to pull that one out
then anything can happen in game 5…very unlikely but who knows im sick right now my stomach hurts my head hurts…worst mood ive ever been in in my life
Monday morning quarterback
DeRosa was injured and should have gone on the DL for the last part of the season and this series. Fontenot should have played 2nd.
Hoffpauir should have made the 25 man roster and been placed in right field instead of Fukudome.
Johnson should have started in CF instead of Edmonds. Go into last night Edmonds was .167 BA against Lowe and 1-11 (.091 BA) against Billingsley going into tonight’s game. Johnson is .364 against Lowe and never had an AB against Billingsley.
Lou should have never sat the starters once the Cubs won the Division.
How can the Cubs not know by now that the LA pitchers are throwing low and away? I can’t believe they are hacking away each and every at bat at the same sh!t.
Lou better stop being Dusty like and show some f*cking emotion.
I want to know
where they found all of these Cub Look-alikes? What happend to the patience at the plate? This team led the league in walks, OBA, etc, and they are swinging at every low and outside pitch thrown to them. Time for a serious soul searching for these guys. They can still do it, they have the ability to win three in a row, but not with this type of attack. You would think Dusty was back in control. (Be aggressive, don’t clog the bases with those annoying walks. Real men don’t walk.) Ok. I added that last phrase for dramatic purposes. I won’t even start on the pitching, but this approach at the plate is disturbing. These are not the 2008 Cubs.
As far as the patience
I completely agree. My dad and I were harping on the same thing. It looks as though the entire Dodgers pitching staff has set their minds on setting up on the far corner and burying balls until we give them reason not to. And we haven’t. It’s very frustrating.
The patience has dipped off in recent weeks. After utilizing the BB as potentially their most potent weapon all year they have abandoned it when most necessary. But there is time for redemption. Right?

Going to the Blue Jackets game
tomorrow night. Not a big hockey fan, but the game is exciting in person, and much better than my sports viewing the last 2 nights, because I’m not emotionally involved.
