Cubs might play exhibition at new Yankee Stadium
NEW YORK (AP)—The Chicago Cubs might play the unofficial opener at the new Yankee Stadium.
The Cubs and Yankees are talking about playing an exhibition game or games the weekend before most teams open the regular season, on Monday, April 6.
While the Cubs are the Yankees’ first choice, the teams are still negotiating.
The official opener of the $1.6 billion ballpark is April 16 against Cleveland.

The house that Ruth built is DEAD.
May the house that George built usher in many generations of Yankee suckitude.

Maybe this should be the Cubs' new vocation.
They could become a barnstorming team that everyone loves to invite to their stadium and mall openings, children’s birthday parties etc. They play a game, eat some cake then get back on the bus and head to the next days festivities. In the postseason, the team with the best record (NL or AL) is then allowed to invite the Cubs in for a three game Division Series drubbing before the real playoffs begin.
