World Series Game #3: Rays vs. Phillies, Saturday 10/25, 7:35 CT
Wow, there's still baseball going on? Then again, there may not be, as the Philadelphia-area forecast calls for rain. The radar, though, shows some breaks and you can bet they'll do everything they can to get the game in.

If I post the first comment and no one comes here to see it...
…do I still get to claim “first”?

No but "first" is still a worthless comment.
I have no idea who’s going to win this game. I picked game 1 and game 2, but I have no idea what happens when a 45 year old pitches against a young, young team that’s on the road for the first time in the Series.
Barring rain and weather…I’ll take a bit higher-powered Philly offense, against some mediocre pitching from Moyer. Howard hits a 2 or 3 run dong, and Pena or Upton get in on the action, too. 6-4 Phillies.

It really doesn't matter at this point.
We are 4-4 and here’s our last for games:
@ MSU
@ IU
Minny
Cal Poly
I don’t see us winning @ East Lansing, and Indiana just beat a good Wildcat team. Ironically, the Minnesota game could be the make-it-or-break-it for our bowl season. The lower-class bowls – Music City, Radio, Alamo – are drooling at a chance to get the Badger fans – some of the best travelers in the country – at their game. I saw we get throttled @ MSU, lose a close one @ IU, and win our last two to be bowl eligible and cap our worst season in recent memory.
Dan
PS – Then again, a huge lose at home against the Gophers would do wonders for both of the programs – on the way up Minny, and crashing Wisco. It would be quite ironic, really.

And for what it's worth...
…although I’m a diehard Badger alum, I’m currently a doc student @ KU. And I was there for the 63-21 “game” against Texas Tech today. We left when it was 42-14, they scored another TD when we were walking out (49-14), and by the time we got to the car, it was 56-14.

I believe he meant that Crawford has a very high stolen base efficiency rate, not proficiency rate. FJM should be all over that one tomorrow.

Let the other lame ballparks have the other songs, the wave, the white towels, the rally monkeys, the videotrons….etc. At Nationals Park, you can send your kids to play video games in the large game area, and you can go and pick up a girl in the large bar area (as long as your wife isn’t watching). I’m surprised anyone watches the game.

Everyone else sings these patriotic songs to remind us wer're in few wars where people on both sides are still getting killed
I’m trying to be non-judgemenetal but that ‘s the intent of singing the National Anthem before every sporting event all over the country. We got it. Don’t need to overdo it. Lighten up a little and sing something light. Christ, they might as well sing Battle Hymn of the Republic. And about a third of the players arent even from the US, so we should rotate it around to do some reggae and some Mexican stuff and some Cuban music and be inclusive. and throw in a little rap to keep it honest.

Bud addressed that very point earlier this week
Basically what he said was there aren’t enough TV slots to go around for the post-season; MLB can’t go up against football.
Translation: we’ve whored ourselves out to the highest bidder (FOX/TBS) so we’ll play whenever they want us to play; little kids and grumpy old ballhawks be damned.

Hallelujah is right!
Here’s the key parts of that link:
What’s coming to light is how unpopular Morgan has become with many of his ESPN colleagues, who are less than thrilled with the way he prepares for a telecast. Some of them also don’t respond well to what they call Morgan’s haughty attitude, which he has displayed during some of his more outspoken performances in internal ESPN meetings.
Prone to on-air mistakes, Morgan also has come under some intense media scrutiny. And during those moments when he’s made a mistake, the give and take between him and Miller can sound strained. But some of this stuff (if you don’t take it all seriously) is kind of funny.
That’s exactly what we’ve been saying about him all this time. Maybe they’ve finally figured it out.
