What is the one word to describe your feelings?
I would have to say mine is DISGUST. This goes way beyond disappointed, discouraged, or upset, this is truly disgusting. In my opinion this is worse than 2003 and does not even come close to 2007. '84 was disappointing, '03 was upsetting, '07 was discouraging, this is just disgusting.
Really, can you even imagine attending the Cubs Convention this year? For what, to hear about all the hope in 2009? How they learned their lesson in the 2008 and 2007 playoffs?
–verb (used with object)
| 1. | to cause loathing or nausea in. |
| 2. | to offend the good taste, moral sense, etc., of; cause extreme dislike or revulsion in: Your vulgar remarks disgust me. |
| 3. | a strong distaste; nausea; loathing. |
| 4. | repugnance caused by something offensive; strong aversion: He left the room in disgust |

Perplexed....
…on how a talented team could look so poorly 2 years in a row. That’s all. Not even mad anymore……
Should be an interesting off season....
First word: "Disappointed"
Second word: “Again”
Go Green! Go White! GO STATE! (#13031 on the Cubs season ticket waiting list...)
That being said, there is no reason for optimism for the balance of this series, BUT...
you never know. Things are usually darkest before the dawn and all that, but until L.A. wins a third game in this series, it’s not over. Maybe that happens Saturday, maybe Sunday, maybe Tuesday, maybe NEVER.
It ain’t over until the fat lady sings…
(I know this sounds pollyannaish and all, but what else have we got folks?)
Go Green! Go White! GO STATE! (#13031 on the Cubs season ticket waiting list...)
Now if you will excuse me, I'll be over there in the corner curled up in a fetal position...
Go Green! Go White! GO STATE! (#13031 on the Cubs season ticket waiting list...)
ill accept that as an answer
I hate those people who are fanpost police but seriously…I show the most recent ten and they are all in the past 7 hours…..

Not trying to police...
but it ain’t like these are new thoughts or anything. It’s 15 different takes on the same thing.

I can only express puzzlement, that borders on alarm.

Why
Why us? What did we do to deserve this. I hate the Division Series. It is too short for having a great season.
Dejected
I had great hope for this team and its ability to outperform. The season is not over, yet, and I will hold out hope until the final out. To imply that this is anywhere on par with 2003 is gross overreaction. 1. the series is still going. 2. The team has lead no series and is still 7 wins away from going to the WS.
I expected better than last year and look for this team to make the Dodgers work for their supper.

Stole my word.
Embarrassed, and perplexed why this crap happens.

Lost
I was so excited two days ago at this time.

Is...
’kick-to-the-nuts" one word?
If not, whatever word describes that feeling is my one word.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand. - Homer J Simpson
I believe its groined.
Or it should be. Think about it: “I was watching America’s Funniest Home Videos, and this guy got groined. It was hilarious.”
Oh, and my word would be: Vomitastic
Deja-vu
As a forty year + Cubs fan, all I can say to you younger pissed off fans is welcome to Cub-dom.
Flabbergasted
I dont care, 2003 was infinitely worse
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
I disagree
This team is better than the 03 team and the Marlins are way better than this Dodger team.
"Have You heard of the Boom on Mizar 5?"
Disappointed.
It would have been so much smarter to have become a Cards fan when we moved to St. Louis 25 years ago. Couldn’t do it then, can’t do it now.

Yawn
Unfortunately, I’ve seen this movie and it’s sequels before. The ending always blows.
Who needs a stinkin' tag line? What are they for anyway?
Resignation
There are no more excuses, rationalizations, analysis on paper, extrapolation of regular season performance, examination of the statute of limitations on certain curses, whatever...
HOPEFUL
maybe i’m a dumb ass cubs fan, but isn’t hope all we ever have as fans? somebody will break out of their slump and take down the dodgers single handedly a la steve garvey in ’84.

It's not that you are a dumb ass, but
that you are a fan while the season continues.

Our ace vs. Kuroda. It’s not over yet.
by dr stabbingworth on Oct 3, 2008 8:55 AM CDT reply actions
amen .. but
Kuroda owned us last time we saw him. They better have scouted him as best as they can. I hope the Cubs hole up in the locker room and watch the game they got spanked in when he pitched against us. He was a cold stone wall that they do NOT need to beat up on ..
Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
Cheated
I watched the Cubs play all Summer and look like the best Cub team I’ve ever seen. Heck, the best team in baseball!
It’s not the losing that hurts so much, it’s the WAY they have lost the first 2 games of this series. They have beaten themselves, first by walking the world and then by not making defensive plays.
What is so disheartening is this is the worst I’ve seen this team play all year. I am in total shock about how they’ve played.
How can it end like this? I pray that they will make a comeback because as bad as they’ve played in the last 2 games, they still have a chance.
And THIS situation is why Jim Hendy traded for Rich Harden.
It will seem like an eternity until Saturday night but there still is hope! They can win 3 games in a row, they’ve done that all year long.
Go Cubs!
Hey, it's a new century!
Resolute
This too will pass ..
Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
Frustrated
…by so many things…
Most importantly, the lack of the ability to learn by our current club…including the management in the dugout…not enough time or patience to gripe anymore, everyone has the same feelings anyways…
A lot of good words up there...
… most of them describe what I’m feeling. But mine is..
“empty”
"That's my opinion and if you don't like it, well, I have others." ~ Groucho Marx
first word that came to my mind as well
i woke up 4 times last night to my mind reminding me we were down 0-2 and i felt like i had the wind knocked out of me
i feel empty right now

disillusioned
this is not at all what we imagined but as hard as it is to keep on hoping, it’s not over yet. like someone said in another thread, i’m going to step back and take a breather today. we need it as much as the team does.
i’ve read bcb for awhile now but never posted so hello all.
Welcome aboard!
You picked a bold time to start posting. I waited until the off-season after the dismal ’06 campaign to slink in.
