Momentum is as good as that day's starter (and the Cubs have Harden)
Look, things aren't good right now. I think we'd all agree on that.
And at the risk of being a 'polyanna,' let me look at the (one?) positive right now: Rich Harden starts tomorrow night.
Yes, it's bleak, but one good start can turn this around. If the Cubs win Game 3, all of the sudden the pressure is on the Dodgers to win in LA and not go back to Wrigley for a Game 5.
It's the same MO the Red Sox used in the ALCS in 2004. Survive Game 4, then Martinez and Schilling won the next two to put pressure on the Yankees.
Think about it for a moment - Harden in Game 3, Lilly in Game 4. That's not a bad way to reclaim momentum.

It isn't
But when all you’re infielders score an error and noone can put points on the board, it doesn’t matter who you have pitching, whether it be Cy Young in Game 3 and Nolan Ryan in Game 4.
That said, I’m happy with our pitching matchup… and one thing we have to do is BELIEVE. Let’s just hope the players do the same.

yeah
that’s been my line today. Dick Harden is going tommorrow night. Quite frankly with the way we have played all year if they can take 3 in a row from Z, Dempster, and Harden then I tip my cap to them.
Here’s what I pray for though: Rich Harden throws well Saturday. Ted Lilly continues his recent hot streak and the rejuvenated offense keeps it going. Tuesday back at Wrigley Dempster redeems himself.

I like the idea of it
But the reality of it is what I can’t get by. Put David Ortiz circa 2004 in the middle of our lineup and perhaps we’ll talk.
Who needs a stinkin' tag line? What are they for anyway?

The team will have all
of Spring Training to get “focused”, with the “bad taste left in their mouths”. Again.
Three in a row?
Against the team they’re playing?
right.

The only problem with that is....
Harden hasn’t looked very good in his last 3 starts, and then we have to dip into the bullpen……
Should be an interesting off season....

I'm actually fairly optimistic about Harden's start
He’s pitching on over a week’s rest and he’s going to be going in a pitcher’s park. Harden’s weaknesses with the Cubs have been walking batters and giving up the home run, so if he can just stay around the strike zone, I think Harden can have a really good outing.

And if he can win the game...
pressure moves to LA to close things out and not let it get back to Wrigley. I like Lilly’s chances in that game.
