Miracle on Waveland Avenue
Call me anutcase, but this isn't over.
Think about this 2008 Cubs team. There have been sveral times when you say "Oh, they are done"- they have come back. Don't get me wrong-it will be tough. We have to go into Hollywood and beat the Dogers (TWICE) in their home park. True, we have been playing like a bunch of two year olds. But I still think that we can manage to somehow come back. It may not be easy, but if any team can, it is definitely this 2008 Chicago Cubs team. I see us playing a game 5 at Wrigley Tuesday night.

Take heart, enjoy the day off, and see you tomorrow....

Agreed
I don’t post here much, and along with most others, I am disheartened. However, if we can get a good game out of Harden and pick up the win tomorrow night. The Dodgers may start to press in order to try and close it out at home. If the pressure shifts and they can win on the weekend, Wrigley will be rockin for a game 5. I just looked at what I wrote and there are a lot of “ifs” in there. Hopefully, things start to fall our way.

Second sentence should read: “However, if we can get a good game out of Harden and pick up the win tomorrow night, the Dodgers may start to press in order to try and close it out at home.”

5 what? Months? Years? This teams hasn't shown the backbone to
be competitive, let alone win a game. I’m still waiting for one player to step up and perform better in the post season than he did during the year. That’s what it takes to win playoff games and so far, I’ve just seen guys standing around, waiting for someone else to carry the load.

For this to happen...
…somebody (or 2 or 3) needs to set the example and put the team on their back for a game or two, to create momentum and put the pressure back on the Dodgers (which will happen if they have to go to game five).
We have some good players, but I am not sure we have the guys to respond in this circumstance. It could be Harden reponds with a gem tonight and that gets the ball rolling, but I have serious doubts.
