Spill Your Emotions To The Tribune

Got an email from a Tribune writer who wants to hear from you. Here it is in its entirety:
Cub fans, how do you feel going into Saturday? Chicago Tribune writer Jason George wants to know. He’d also like to hear how you think this season (so far) compares with others. Feel free to drop him a note today at: jgeorge (at) tribune (dot) com

I feel fantastic, thank you very little.

That’s like asking a guy with acid reflux how his sandwich tastes.

Proud recipient of a hot dog shot from the Iowa Cubs hot dog gun.

Lazy journalist

writing lazy stories.
No thanks, I’ll share my emotions with my brethren here, my wife and the nurse who treats my broken heart.

One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space. That day appears to be near.

I feel numb.

Which means I can’t feel.

Thank you for the paradox, Cubs.

The Tribune?

Talk about adding insult to injury, the Tribune picked this week to morph into a lite version of the USA Today. I need comfort, not a crap paper.

As it looks as though the Trib laid off all writing and editorial staff and increased ad sales, Jason may be one of the few remaining employees.

Sorry, another raw nerve.

But the wind blew me back via Chicago, In the middle of the night

How about...

…the Trib holds off on writing those Cub books until the season is over.

Yeah, I'd vote for that, too.

The worst injury of all is that Mike Downey was the only

Trib contributor that picked the Dodgers over the Cubs. All is lost now.

I feel everything.

Every emotion possible. The rainbow of emotions going through a prism and coming out as the white light of tears.

Dread at the possibility that we held this team on our shoulders for so long and then it would all be gone in a moment.

Hope in Harden and Lilly and Game 5.

Love of the Cubs.

Anger (a lot of that) at last night’s performance.

Heartache (and headache, oy no more shots).

Joy because of all the beautiful good Cub fans I got to experience the last two games with here in NY.

Fear that I will not be able to root any more next year. That all of my Cubbie spirit will have been spent.

But mostly, I am anticipating. I am hoping that yes we can do this thing, we can win three in a row.

When I was a child, I caught a fleeting glimpse

out of the corner of my eye

I turned to look
                           and it was gone

I cannot put my finger on it
                                                  now

The child has grown, the dream has gone …

I can’t sing the rest of this ..

Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!

Oh good lord no...

It’s shapes up like the Trib version of the Sun Times’ “Who Hotter”.

I’ll pass on letting them package my pain to sell a few extra papers.

Spill my emotions to the Trib?

I’d rather just wait for Roger’s next power ranking.

Well here's the article

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-05-nlds-fans-cubs-chicagooct05,0,5781295.story

…and part of my comments that were quoted:

“I feel betrayed; like the first 161 games didn’t mean diddly squat,” said Bob Richter of Lake in the Hills. "And the worst part of it is I’ll be watching them in Arizona come March and will be at that old North Side ballyard many times throughout next season.
