Bad ending to a wonderful season
What a great regular season and just led to the disappointment.
I realize all the calls to trade the entire team, fire Hendry and Pinella and the name calling of the players is just ridiculous overmotional overreaction.
They were a good team who was outplayed for 3 games. Good players who had bad games.
The players are not gutless or anything like that. That is ridiculous. Critizing play is one thing but name calling is ridiculous.
I enjoyed sharing this season with you all. Have a good and healthy winter everyone. Besides the ownership change I don't think there will be much news. I think Dempster and Wood resign and some minor moves but you don't do anything major with a 97 win team. Hendry is not an idiot overreactor and hopefully the new owner will not be.
I don;t want the owner to listen to the fans or make decisions based on the fans wants. I want him to follow what his baseball people want. The day an owner starts going with the fans wants over what baseball people think are best for the team is the day I don't want him.
Hopefully we'll also celebrate Soto's ROY win and Santo's HOF election in the next 2 months.
Guys on another front, I actually saw Al Thursday night. I was going to approach him but he really did look really seriously down. I waved don't know if he saw me but he didn't look like he felt like talking to anyone. And I know people who have met him in the bleachers and a nicer friendlier man you could never meet.
And on another front, I'm sure everyone will be very disappointed but you won't be seeing much of me this winter. We've had a situation develop in a group I'm a part of where I've been asked to take over. They've agreed to wait until the Cubs season ended. Sadly I take over tomorrow. I probably will only post when something happens and I don't expect much to happen as I said earlier..
Al thanks for another wonderful year on this site. Have a safe and pleasant winter. See you all in April or whenever news breaks.

I know
I was one very critical after Game 2, but that was more abject disappointment with how it all ended as well.
We were outplayed and just played terrible. End of story.
100 years would have been nice, but 101 years still has a nice ring to it.

I love this team
best team the Cubs have had in a long time. Just couldnt preform when we needed them the most. I want to see the vast majority of the team back to try again next year. DeRosa, Soto and Dempster are the team’s MVPs and they had better be back. It was rough the last few days, but don’t forget the wonderful season. Just wait until next year.

I don't believe in curses...
but I really do think all of this talk seeps into the players, the fans, the managers heads. They are human, and I saw a lot of players pressing and trying to force the issue.
