Still had great memories in 2008
Thank you Chicago Cubs for the memories I had from April-September in 2008.
-I got to go with my dad to Wrigley and see you win there for the first time in my life. I am from NY and have a 0-41 lifetime record until that game.
-I witnessed my first ever no hitter from inning 1 on TV with one of my favorite Cubs pitchers of all time.
-I got to be in Wrigley and chant "Kerry, Kerry" in the 9th inning twice.
-I got to see Kerry Wood pitch for the first time ever (he was always on the DL in NY).
-I saw amazing comebacks and different heroes made all season.
-I saw the Cubs stop the unstoppable Sabathia.
-I actually got to produce a video with 2 Cubs players for my company and spend the day getting to know them. Biggest highlight of the year for me.
-I got to take my 8 year old cousin to Wrigley and see Rich Harden strike out 10. She never went to Wrigley before.
-I got to sing Go Cubs Go at Wrigley for first time ever.
Thanks for the memories. I can wait until next year.

Just not enough...
The memories that I have remind me of the kind of memories I have of old girlfriends that dumped me. While great, the end result was that the relationship did not bear any fruit.

Lots of great things for me too.
But at this moment, I feel like those great things were secretly meeting in the back room of a wrong side of the tracks bar. They were scratching out a twisted and awful plan that would be my yearly boot to the head. Rotten bastards!
Like I posted on another fanpost, I will find a way to seperate this tragic ending from the wonderful season, just not ready yet.
My heart is breakin, head is achin, stomach is churnin, acid reflux is burnin, but I will ALWAYS be a Cubs fan.

It's like going on a great vacation...
and the plane crashing on the way home. This team FLOPPED — In every way they could! They should have conserved fuel and fought global warming by staying in Chicago. What a JIP!

I'm OK with it.
I am not happy. I am disappointed. But I have enjoyed the last six months. I did not have high hopes about the playoffs because of the way the team has played of late. If the playoffs had been in say, May or June, I might have been a little more encouraged.
But being a fan of a first place team, being the object of other fans’ envy, was fun. Let’s do it a little better next year.

this season was one of the best
but the way it finished was like being slapped in the face by this organization. now to sit and wait for 6 months and hope we can get our shit together and hopefully get some better hitters.
