Chicago-bound...

...this Friday.

I bought non-refundable airline tickets 'cause I figured, 'Hey, there's no way the Cubs are gonna get swept in the first round again.'

Oops.

What was going to be a long weekend filled with baseball and Wrigleyville watering holes instead looks like it'll be a stroll through a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with zombified Cubs fans moaning, "Soriannnnno! Braaaaaaains!"

Any thoughts on activities to keep a mourning Cubs fan mildly entertained in the Second City?

As an aside, if any of the BCB regulars want to meet for a drink and commisurate, I'm all ears.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

There are plenty of things to do

In the city…. have you been here before?

Yes, there are.

Find the latest copy of the Chicago Reader you can and go from there. Chicago is still a fantastic town.

Lots of things to do

There is a whole section on BCB of things to do in Chicago.

FYI if at all possible in future USE AIRLINE MILES. That is what I did so I can flip my ticket for this week to one for
either convention or first weekend home stand.

Marathon

The Chicago Marathon is Sunday, that would be fun to go watch, if the weather is nice.

OT: Baseball alive at old Tiger Stadium site
I have to admit, i didn't expect this to work, and i generally don't condone ratting somebody out, but i think Woo Woo inspires special circumstances.

He was a few rows above me and a group of maybe a hundred other University of Iowa alumni last night, and started right in with the wooing early and loud. Between innings, he was... how shall i say this... creeping around? We all know his reputation.

Within 10 minutes of making a complaint to the Cubs text line, he was gone. Might be worth trying in future instances.

Sorry for the crappy picture quality... just got a new phone (HTC EVO) and am not sure how to take screen caps yet.
