Congrats to Scott Eyre!
Go get em Scottie! I would love nothing more than to watch you and the Phillies take down the Dodgers. The team that scouted the Cubs for 3 weeks.
I was sad when Lou let Scott go. Never understood it. I live near Philly so I just watched him celebrate in the clubhouse as he was interviewed by Philly sports caster. Scott was a class act and it was cool to see how he was accepted by his teamates. I will now throw my support behind the Phils for the rest of the run. They are a hard working team and they have fans that want it as bad as we all do. Go Scott & Phillies!!

I'd feel....
a little better, not by much though, if the Dodgers completely trounced the Phillies.
The Cubs being swept in the NLDS by a team on its way to the World Series and winning it is a LITTLE bit easier to swallow.
If the Dodgers get embarassed by the Phillies I would be even more embarassed about the Cubs.

Dempster: I think the best is yourself. [ . . .] I think the worst player is D-Lee. I think he bets every time just to bet.

I'm trying to understand...
Why it’s a BAD thing to scout your opponent.
I think the scouting isn’t being talked about enough. The Dodgers (and D’Backs last year) seemed to know every hole in every hitter’s swing and every tendency by the pitchers.
The Cubs seemed to know nothing. It was like they were in the Olympics, playing together for the first time and against an opponent they’d never heard of.
The worst beer I had was pretty good.

Yeah, I would agree this difference played a major role
In fact, it might just be the primary reason for the flops…
O.k., hard to discount the tremendous suckage in every single aspect of the game, but it still has to be considered a factor…

Or...
… what if they DID have scouting reports and failed to use them?
Then wouldn’t some of the blame go to the manager and coaches?

Absolutely!
Somehow I find this to be a lot less likely scenario – but I could be wrong…

I'm pullin' for the Phillies--they're a classier team.
Philly fans are cool. LA baseball fans suck (I once lived in LA). Dodgers suck. Dodger stadium is one big sanitized parking lot (although I like the area surrounding it—Silverlake).
