Hendry, Kenney and Blagojevich at lunch
Just saw the three above heavy-hitters eating lunch at Harry Caray's in Wrigleyville. Kenney and the gov walked in together with a third guy whom I didn't recognize. Hendry walked in a few minutes later, talking on his cell phone.
The question is, what were Kenney and Hendry talking to the gov about? The sale of Wrigley? I was too far away to hear anything that they were saying.
I nodded at Hendry, and he nodded back. The gov shook a few hands (though not mine).

And they all say, "ow...that hurts!"
My next sig line quote will also be from Lou Piniella, and the first word will be either "Look", or "Listen", followed by a comma.

... they walk into a bar and
Kenney asks for a glass of water, but he might soon start preferring Aquafina or Dasani. It’ll probably still taste mostly same, and hopefully the new sponsorship would help him afford to buy something nice for Hendry to put on the left side of the plate.
Blagojevich orders a beer, but elects not to drink it in the bar. Instead, he drives home to drink it, then drives back an hour later to return the glass, going back home when he’s done. He plans to make separate trips later to pay the bill and to leave the tip.
Hendry orders a fine glass of summer wine, which doesn’t really go that great in the fall. Hendry pays $100 for it now, then $200 tomorrow, and $300 the day after that, way past when he’ll still want it. He gives it a no-trade clause. (He also gets an order or three of buffalo wings, let’s not kid ourselves.)
They call me the Barnyard.

I liked it too.

Rod doesn't tip, seriously.
I was a vendor at Wrigley for a bit and he bought some stuff from me and didn’t tip at all. Nothing.

Did any other people tip you?

Yeah.
Most people tip at Wrigley, to the point that if you get stiffed it’s weird.

OTOH...
… and I don’t mean to sound cheap here, some of the hot dog vendors stand there waiting for you to leave them the extra $1 if you give them $5 for one of the $4 hot dogs.
Tipping’s fine, but $1 on a $4 purchase? Kinda steep, if you ask me.

Wrigley is different.
The usual rules of tipping seem to not apply at Wrigley. A lot of Wrigley’s vendors do it for a living and work at many different venues and they all say that Wrigley’s fans are probably the most generous.

Round up
I usually round up and let the vendor keep the change.

Good question Al
I can’t confirm this, but Hendry was reportedly also seen at the Olive Garden, Fuddruckers and a McDonalds drive through on Polaski for Lunch today as well.

Isn't that a joke
A team President a General Manager and a Governor walk into a bar,
Hopefully Rod wasn’t given Hendry ideas.

A few years ago
A few years ago on a Cubssite I belonged to someone wrote a tongue in cheek piece about what would happen if then President Clinton and MacPhail traded places to the country and the Cubs. It was humorous no matter which side of the aisle you belonged to and wasn’t really a political jab.
