Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

How's Zambrano doing?

With recent trade talk of Peavy and how we need to resign Dempster I started to wonder the status of Carlos Zambrano.  Have there been any updates on how his shoulder is doing?

The urgency for Cubs to get another front line starter has me questioning the health of Z.  What are your thoughts on how he's going to do in 2009 considering we had a couple scares with him so far in '08.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, editor-in-chief (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

I'm not really worried about Z's shoulder.

I’m much more worried about his head.

Does anyone have Annie Savoy's phone number in Durham?

Maybe she could get him channeling through the right, or left I can’t ever remember, eyelid and put all that Chakra energy to use.

Tommie Agee was out.

Maybe

If Z didn’t sleep with his wife, he could re-channel his sexual energy into his pitching.

He needs to breathe through both eyelids, by the way, and use his ‘Pridal Eye’, just like Fernando.

How would anyone know?

He’s not playing winter ball, so there wouldn’t be any additional strains on his shoulder. My guess is that he’ll be fine for spring training.

As noted above, I think we have to worry more about his head.

It's too early to tell.

No players have yet been named to any teams.

If we get Peavy, I hope we tell him he can't pitch for USA.

The year of the WBC was his worst year so far.

It's yet another episode of "Outfield Adventures", starring Milton Bradley, as he'd lose this Jason Kendall-hit ball in the sun Friday against the Brewers.

Buster Olney said a few days ago that the Braves would entertain offers for their 26 year old shortstop (who makes 450k) Yunel Escobar. He is a plus bat, a solid defender, and would move Theriot to his more appropriate position at second.

They are looking for a bat in return. Apparently Cox doesn't like the guy.

I couldn't even speculate what we'd have to send them in return, but I think he would be a good fit given his low salary, his productive bat, his position, and his age. I don't care if he's a jerk if he makes the team win more.

What would it take?
