BASEBALL FEVER
The enthusiasm by all the posters here is awesome. There's no doubt how big Cub baseball is. I just have a feeling alot of the talk we hear might not be so accurate, especially since the names seem to change daily. Bottom line, we just have to trust Jim hendry with our beloved Cubs. Hendry has proven that his goal is to win it all. My own opinion, which obviously means nothing, there's no way Hendry thinks a middle infield of Theriot-Fotenot will lead us to the promise land. I'm all about upgrades and losing Derosa, without Roberts for instance, seems like a step backward.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

It's early...
…just like during the season and there’s worries about things? Some of us have to remind the rest that the season is a marathon, not a sprint. Well, same thing here.
We can all look at trades and acquisitions in a vacuum but that doesn’t mean the 25-man roster is static; it’s dynamic. Like the Gregg deal. So many folks were all over it in a bad way. Who’s to say the ‘pen is done? It’s not IMHO. Just like the Peavy thing. Jimbo has a plan-B and a plan-C, hell he may even have a plan-D and plan-E.
We’ll all have a better feeling for how things shake out by Valentine’s day, which is very close to when pitchers and catchers report.

Yup, it's a puzzle we all so desperately want to solve...
…but we simply don’t have all the pieces and some of the ones we do have may be from another box entirely.
Yes, yes ... winter is indeed a pond upon which all of us must skate, braving frostbite and runny noses in the hopes that our cars will start and we shan't embarass ourselves slipping on a patch of black ice. Spring is more a quagmire of cold mud and slush, and fall is a pile of fallen leaves that may or may not hide a pile of doggy doo-doo. But summer, ah summer is an oasis of endless green that disappears all too quickly beneath our feet as we rush through its warm, glorious bliss.
