A nice line from the Sun-Times on Pie/Gathright

I loved this from Gordon Wittenmyer:

"The Cubs just signed a guy who's so fast, he already has run past Felix Pie on the outfield depth chart and looks like he's about to run Pie right out of the organization."

All too true, I'm afraid. The troubling thing is that now other teams know this, so they're going to low-ball us for Pie. Bummer. - TL

Yes, Gordo certainly has a way with words.

Apparently his Twitter page has fallen off his radar again, because I haven’t gotten jack dookie from him about this signing or the reups of Gaudin, RJ and Cotts.

Yes, yes ... winter is indeed a pond upon which all of us must skate, braving frostbite and runny noses in the hopes that our cars will start and we shan't embarass ourselves slipping on a patch of black ice. I haven’t used it much yet, but I can see this being good for ballpark updates during the season.

Oddly, it doesn’t appear to have updated in a couple weeks. I’ll check out why.
