NHL Winter Classic Rink Update: Late Thursday, Closeups

Since a storm is headed this way, I thought I'd head over to Wrigley again this afternoon for some updated photos, especially after I saw the NHL Network video link on the post below, showing they had made considerable progress today. The lights were already on at 3 pm when I went there, so they must have been on all day.

Also ran into Brad from Cubs security again; he mentioned that they were intending to get the ice laid down tonight.

Zamboni

Don’t know if anyone saw the news, but the second zamboni fell off the truck bc they didn’t have the ramp down

Someday we'll go all the way.

Saw a 9-foot Steinway do that once.

Bet the Zamboni made a cool noise too.

The zamboni is funny,

the steinway’s is tragic! I won’t sleep well tonight, thank you.
Al, thanks again for the pics!

It wan't really that tragic.

It fell on the viola section.

whew, ok

so that’s the purpose of the viola section, to provide padding for the piano? I always wondered why they were there. Thanks for clarifying this, I can sleep soundly tonight!

Really enjoying all the pictures, Al. Thanks.

I'm so impressed

with your devotion to the Cubs and all things Wrigley. How lucky we are.

Bud House

How long has the “Drinkability” Bud Light banner been up?

That went up late in the baseball season...

… about the same time the TV campaign started.

Wouldn't of known there was a TV campaign

Bud Light isn’t exactly a big seller over here…. :)
