Nice Article

Sounds like the type of personal growth and the finding of ones self that we all want our kids to embrace one day.

If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.

In case you are interested, here is a link to that team’s roster:

A lot of guys who never panned out on that roster.

Wow.

Glanville had the best major league career of anyone on that team.

And his wasn’t all that great.

Outstanding.

I remember Glanville’s season in Puerto Rico. He beat my team in the finals.

Excellent account of a player’s life back then for a team out of the San Juan metro area. A few pampered players insisted on staying in cozier accomodations than Glanville’s.

Two updates: A lot has changed since the mid-nineties. Glanville would have a cell phone nowadays and a cheap TV in his room, probably.

Also, the ballpark that Glanville remembers fondly, built early in the 20th century, doesn’t exist anymore. It was demolished last year to give way to a new facility to host the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2010 and the Mayaguez Indios. For now the team is playing at a stadium in a nearby town (Aguadilla).
