Sheesh.
Thought I had you guys on this one. Yes, it’s Drott. Drott was the Kerry Wood of his day, won 15 games as a 20-year-old rookie.
He blew his arm out and wound up going to Houston in the expansion draft. He was done at 26.

In those days lots of managers rode pitchers hard till they dropped. The stakes were lower and at those salaries, there was always a replacement available.
Too bad. If modern surgical techniques had been available in the ’50s, Drott might have been able to come back.
