The real Yankee numbers broken down
In 2009 Alex Rodriguez is set to make $42,000 per plate appearence ($27.5 million in salary divided by 162 games per year divided by four at bates per game). Derek Jeter is set to make $29,000 and Mark Teixeira $35,000 each time they step into the batters box.
And every fifth day, the Yankees will shell out $34,000 for each out recorded by CC Sabathia (23 million in yearly salary divided by 32 starts per year divided by seven innings per start divided by three outs per inning).
How does salary match up to this?

Grew up in St. Joe
Check out a band called the Willey Family. I think they are pretty much based out of Grand Rapids now also there is a guy named Rick Willey out of St. Joe that does Celtic music.
Last but not least go hang out at Silver Beach (of course it may be gone now, it’s only been 33 years since I’ve been there).
If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.

I grew up in South Haven
and work there now and there is nothing to do there. But I guess it is the same way everywhere after you have been there long enough.

Western Michigan is awesome
My best friend hails from Grand Haven and my wife, daughter and I frequent the Holland-Grand Haven area every summer. Also Traverse City. One of the nicest places on the planet.

I was told there would be no math.
Yes, yes ... winter is indeed a pond upon which all of us must skate, braving frostbite and runny noses in the hopes that our cars will start and we shan't embarass ourselves slipping on a patch of black ice. Spring is more a quagmire of cold mud and slush, and fall is a pile of fallen leaves that may or may not hide a pile of doggy doo-doo. But summer, ah summer is an oasis of endless green that disappears all too quickly beneath our feet as we rush through its warm, glorious bliss.

Yeah, I was told that, too.
Now I’m doubly disappointed.
