DeRosa taken to Hospital
For an irregular heartbeat. The rotoworld article said that DeRo was sitting up and alert so hopefully this turns out to be nothing.
The article also says this has happened to DeRo before, but I can't seem to remember how long ago this was. Can anyone help me out here?

The source article...
I, too, hope DeRosa is OK. If he's had this before, then it probably isn't a big deal.

The article at...
"He's had this before and he's been able to modify it with breathing exercises, but today it didn't go away," Piniella said.
DeRosa felt faint, but never lost consciousness.
"I talked to him, and he was a little nervous but outside of that, he's OK," Piniella said. "I don't expect this to be serious and I don't expect it to be long."
Sounds like he'll be OK.

Tachycardia?
Your "breathing exercises" thing clued me.
Any medical people on here that can go into more detail? I'm a photographer/editor...

Almost sounds like
Abnormal heart rhythms can be caused from a variety of reasons. He may have a sensativity to caffeine, or it could be a genectic anomoly he has within the conduction mechanism in his heart that gets triggered by the perfect circumstances. If he has had it before, they probably have a pretty good feel for it's origin.
I studied this stuff in graduate school but am no doc by any means. Of all athletes, african american basketball players have the highest incidence of abmormal heart rhythms (Wolf-Parkinson White syndrome).
Anyway, I am sure he is going to be fine, although they may put him on a medication to keep this under control if they think it could be a chronic problem.

Aside from a baseball geek, I'm an avid rock climber. Have had attacks several hundred feet off the ground a few times, and am here to report that they go away after a bit.
Anyways, hope DeRo is doing well. Guess I have another reason to root for him!
