Soriano is a better leadoff option than Theriot

I took a look at some statistics the other day to examine whether Alfonso Soriano was a better option to leadoff over Ryan Theriot. I tried to post them here, but couldn't figure out how to include tables for the stats. So, go check out the post at:

You have to admit
Theriot's grinder factor is 30% higher than Soriano's.  It's a legitimate question.

I'll pass on going to their website..
thanks. But I'm certain there's a difference between a site operator promoting the site of another, and a visitor promoting his own.

Gimme a break
Both sites have the others on their sidebar.  As far as Im concerned they are on the same team.  Cubs promoters and supporters.  Making something out of nothing-----clearly.

Yes, thank you, sir!
Ladies and gentlemen, your 2008 Chicago Cubs starting outfield: Soriano-Pie-Fukudome. Let it be.

It's about time we can close this debate
It was getting pretty heated

Here is
another take on Soriano and leading off.  Interesting quote to take away from this article:
Brian Roberts is one of the few leadoff hitters who clearly adds more wins to a team than Alfonso Soriano.

Crikey
Alfonso Soriano is the leadoff hitter, period.   History suggests that Soriano performs best when operating out of the leadoff spot.   And Piniella has steadfastly said Soriano is his leadoff hitter.   So therefore I'm not quite sure what the ongoing debate is all about.   Ryan Theriot as leadoff hitter?   God no.

Posting
I would not have linked to the post on my site had I been able to get the tables to show. Sorry for offending you Damen Jackson. I would hope that you notice I'm not doing this all the time.

I'm not offended at all...
but seriously, thanks for the concern. It was more a comment on an ongoing trend here, rather than any particular comment on your post.

And while I didn't read your article, I've come across your site in the past, and found it on point on many issues.

if ..
soriano bats 4-or 5 he knocks in 150!

by cubz409 on Feb 25, 2008 3:25 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

If Soriano hit fourth or fifth
he wouldn't fail to not notch 150 RBI.

really?
In the last 10 years there has been a total of 6 players that have driven in over 150.  So thats 2 leagues/ten years and only 6 guys.  I doubt if Soriano hit in any spot on any team he would drive in 150.

Id rather him score 100+ runs

150
I think 150 might be a stretch. 100 RBI is not that easy, let along 150.
