Does Marquis have A.D.H.D??

Stay connected for news and updates

I swear that I was going to actually start this diary a couple days ago when it was slow around here, but decided not too because it was just purely speculation and my personal opinion.

But after this article on Marquis at Cubs.com, he's been seeing a Psychologist and quotes like this, sounds like Jason has a hard time focusing and getting "abstract" and distracting thoughts:

"From a physical standpoint, I felt great," said Marquis, who has heard enough about his second-half syndrome. "Sometimes you start out good, and you get your hopes up and you're worried about the light at the end of the tunnel too quickly. You start focusing on, 'Oh man, I could have a great season -- I could do this, I could do that.'"

"Ultimately, you have to focus on your next task, and that's the next game, and the next pitch you throw," Marquis said. "Sometimes I lost sight of the little things that will lead to the bigger things."

Now I'm no Psychologist, but it sounds like maybe Jason could use some Ritalin. There's been many players after being diagnosed with ADHD at the MLB level (Eyre being one) turned their careers around and thrived.
