Tailgating at Spring Training

I'm going to be in Arizona March 13-16th and will be seeing two games at Hohokam and one at Tucson Electric Park.  I want to tailgate before the games and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.  I looked around the internet and really didn't find much.  Even the BCB guide didn't have any tailgate info in it (BTW Al, the comments for that are closed.)  It looks like tailgating is allowed at Hohokam two hours before the game, but no alcohol is allowed.  If anybody can give me any hints and ideas, it would be a great help to me and the BCB community at large.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Having been at HoHoKam many times, I can tell you that plenty of people tailgate in the lots there. They do open up two hours before game time (the park itself opens 90 minutes to game time). I've never done it myself, so I'll take their word about "no alcohol".

I'll be at the games at Mesa on the 13th, 14th and 16th, so after you're done tailgating, come find me on the LF lawn!

Maybe I will!
I'll see what's going on, on those days.

Tailgating
Tailgating at Ho Ho Kam is a tradition that goes back 13 years.  Only Joking.

The lot just past the park (LF) opens about 9AM on game days.  The best spots are by Center St under the trees.  I have never had a problem with drinking at tailgating parties.  Weekends get crowded early.

I'm missing my first spring training in 14 years, so party on for me.

There is a great lot just south...
...of Hokokam on the west side of Center street.

Its actually a womans home and she has a large piece of property that she sells parking spots. We park there every year and tailgate a little before and afterwards. Its a very intersting lot with orange trees, a horse corral and old cars and boats for your viewing enjoyment!

I will be there March 13th and 14th and will be looking for Al in left field!

Let me get back to you, will ya, Charlie? I got a guy on the other line asking about some white walls.

I don't get there till March 20 and the only Ho Ho Kam games I am going to are the Sox on th 22nd and Texas on the 24th
I imagine we can have some informal meet ups throughout Spring Training

I'm there 3/13 through 3/20
A shameless plug for Sluggo's, which used to be Harry and Steve's many moons ago. They open early on game days and have a cheap, very basic breakfast buffet. Eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, etc. They also have a free shuttle to Ho Ho Kam and back to Sluggo's on home game days. Many a person has partied early and not had to drive.

It sounds like..
... a lot of BCB'ers will be there at various times over the last couple of weeks of the spring. I'll be at all the home games (and most of the road games in the Phoenix area) from 3/13 till the end of spring. Find me on the LF lawn in front of the scoreboard.

I'm heading out March 3rd
Going to the White Sox - Royals game on Monday, (my girlfriend is from Kansas) and seeing the Cubs - Brewers at Hohokam on Tuesday from LF.

Anyone else going to that game on the teusday the 4th?

This will be my first Spring Training and then we're going to Vegas for two days before coming back to Chicago.  I can't wait.
