Wrigley Field newbie questions

Hi all

I've been to Wrigley many times when I was younger.  However I get to go back to Wrigley 4 times this year, because I actually had the money tickets.

So, a new questions.

Are you allowed to bring Digital cameras into Wrigley?

For my bleacher seat games, how early am I allowed to get into the park to get the best seats possible?

Are there still street-side T-shirt places that sell T's for cheap?

Well, any answers I could get would be great.  Thank you so much all.

Answer to the other question

... gates open 2 hours before game time. For more popular games, people will be lining up long before that.

Al

I always wondered... How long before the game do you normally get in line?

SHHHH!

There's a separate entrance for bleacher season ticket holders.

Cool!

How long is that season ticket list for bleacher seats again?

by LT on Mar 17, 2008 7:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Forever.

They're not selling any more.

How long

Al, how long have you been a bleacher season ticket holder?

by Lou In Blue on Mar 17, 2008 9:24 PM CDT up reply actions

Since 1992...

... when they first started selling them.

They cut off sales after 2003.

party time

I got front row left field bleacher seats a few time but I had to get to Wrigley almost 4 hours before gametime to do it. People camp at the enterance to the bleachers well before the 2 gate open time. The key is to bring friends. While someone holds the spot in line the rest go to Murphys and have some beers then switch up the line holding.
The 1st time i did it i thought i was about 20th in line. But those were just the line savers. Everyone else was boozing at Murphys. if you want front row dont take any chances. Get there real real early.

Yes you can bring cameras. I bring mine and take TONS of shots. And there are so many tshirt vendors you'll be sick of them after an hour haha

If you have the type.....

of digital camera that takes videos then definitely take advantage of that.

People and vendors everywhere selling Cubs merchandise (I got this huge Wrigley Field picture in a frame for pretty cheap near that big parking lot a couple blocks away).

I'd try and take advantage of seeing batting practice before the games too... haven't personally been able to do that myself yet.

Be sure to have your batteries charged

for your digital camera. Sounds obvious, but if you are like me, the battery will run out just before you get that shot of Banks, Williams and Sandberg all standing together, and there is no place inside Wrigley where you can buy a digital camera battery.

by dfrancon on Mar 17, 2008 9:25 PM CDT reply actions

Thats why...

You should buy a camera that uses AA batteries. That was one of the main things I was looking for when I bought my new digital camera for Christmas. With my old camera, I don't know how many times I forgot to bring an extra set of charged rechargable batteries when I was out somewhere taking pictures. In a pinch, I could go to the nearest store/gift shop/ whatever, buy a set of AA's and put them in the camera and shoot away. Thats why I like cameras with AA batteries as opposed to the camera makers proprietary batteries.
