Question about home games on Sundays

PrintIve always wondered how fans are selected to go onto the field during Sunday home games during the season. Where they get to go out to a players position and have them sign a ball right before the first pitch. I always thought that was cool and wondered if anyone here has ever gotten picked. and if so do you get to choose what position/player you get the autograph from?

From what I have heard....
The Hometown team is selected randomly when they enter the ballpark. I was talking to some guy at a Sunday game once and he said he was chosen one year but I have no way to confirm it.
That's correct.
