Thank you.
Glad to year from you Les
If things are too overwhelming, please just send them to one of us and we will be happy to distribute them.
18 days since being mailed.
No one has received a shirt yet, no matter where they live. 18 days!!??
It does not add up. Would love to see a tracking #, but don't believe I ever will.
What happens is every
My guess is
Are you walking these shirts to Chicago?
I'm not sure what else to say except
It is 7:10 pm, and I don't see him dealing with it
He has not provided one tracking #, even though he was working on it "as we speak" last night.
Nothing has come in the mail, nothing has been returned in the mail to him, and no matter what state anyone lives in, no one has any mail to show for it.
I am not going to drag on with this for two more weeks.
If there is not some new information provided tonight, I willl demand my refund in the morning.
This is kind of annoying...
Sory but you yourself have been a full time job for me on top of trying to keep tabs on Chad.
I am so sick of this whole thing. And before you get mad at me for my response, keep in mind that for all your complaining, I have not only had to listen to it but arrange to order, receive, and get all MY shirts to the people who live here.
You go ahead and give me your address and I will get you a refund as soon as humanly possible.
Perhaps...

Louie
Not sure what to say. This is why I have been hoping with all my heart that Chad perhaps was not straight up about when they were shipped and that the shirts are on the way.
This whole thing sucks freakin ass.
I may just send you my shirt that turned out to be a little small on me anyway. What size are you?
I hear ya
I will get you your shirt Louie. I hope everyone will get their shirts.
"His friend at USPS"?
I think another email is called for.
Also, exactly where in Florida does Chad live? If there's anyone who lives nearby and would offer to pay him a visit, I think that would be called for at this time.
Outstanding stuff
Why don't people just call Chad every 15 minutes or so. And if he doesn't answer, figure out which office at Franklin Templeton he works at (assuming he was telling the truth about working there) and start calling there first thing in the morning.

Fort Lauderdale, Miami and St. Petersburg. Chad live in any of those cities?

Wow Al!
I will soon begin refunds Al. Except for cubskingdom who wants one tomorrow. I will take care of that end of things. Sorry to have to but oh well.
Thanks.
At this point...
Come on, something just doesn't add up here. The slowest USPS service is I believe parcel post, which takes about 7 days.
If the shirts were destroyed in a fire, eaten by a dog, used as wall insulation, well, we'd be upset, but I'd rather have the truth than to have no closure and the continued stringing along that we have now. It has now been almost 3 months after the shirts were supposedly going out.
I agree Al
I am prepared to issue refunds though. I wish it could be the shirts (and maybe it will be someday since it will never make sense to me why someone would do this). I can say that I too have been pretty upset as of late.
azweber9, it does not have to be done tomorrow
As others have posted, I am just at the end of my rope and do not want to encourage, days of Les, asking his friend at USPS or whatever. I have no problem with you, or how you have handled things thus far.
Les answers none of the e mails or voice mails I have sent him. He never picks up the phone no matter what time I call, and his stories just don't add up at all.
If he had one tracking #, he could check the status on line in about 30 seconds, not a friend at USPS will have some news for me in the morning.
Just needed to mark a day that I would not listen to any more stories. That day for me will be tomorrow.
I attended the "Chasing October" Project 3000 fundraiser screening in AZ. last Spring Training, bought a dozen Project 3000 bracelets at The Cubs Convention.
Thought the shirts would be a great gesture as well. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth with Les's actions.
I can certainly appreciate this comment.
I suppose, after talking with Chad tonight, that I will be comfortable in giving this until Friday and then I will begin to get MO's to send back. As I told Al, I still have the whole list of addresses for thr OOT shirts. Hopefully it won't take but a couple days from then, for me to have them and mail them. Whatever is left I will donate.
I am TRULY sorry we trusted Chad and it may have come to this, but I promise to begin that immediately if Friday doesn't see any shirts.
For Louie, I would like to get him one somehow since he designed them and has waited this long too.
Is this an acceptable plan?
I'd like my shirt but if I can't have that
I wish there was something that could be done. Is there some way to get authorities involved? Is there an anti-fraud something or another in Florida that can be contacted. What about FBI? Fraud across interstate lines is a biggie. Maybe with just the threat of it or having a cop stop by and question him would be enough to get the shirts sent out. Have him ship them all to me and I can have them in the mail less than 48 after I get them.
I appreciate that

Chiming in...
Guys, you've been scammed. Why is it so hard to see? This guy is claiming that he mailed your shirts two and a half weeks ago... TWO AND A HALF WEEKS AGO! Come on, wake up and smell the coffee. You're not getting the shirt you paid for.
For once...
But why?????
if we are asking why
why would the guy in florida agree to front the money for shipping the shirts in the first place?
why does it seem that azweber9 is the only person that can ever get a hold of chad (aka les)? has anyone actually talked to chad on the phone during this whole ordeal?
if you look through the countless threads on this there are a lot of questions and not a lot of answers, or at least, not a lot that make sense.
lets hope that there is a happy ending in here somewhere.
The answer to your questions
IIRC, there weren't that many people stepping up to take on some of this project.
This is why I chose to do the things that I have thus far.
azweber, that's not really fair or true
orders shoulda been taken, and shipment arranged for, online. this is a blog for chrissakes; and it's the year 2008.
all that said, the entertainment provided by all these diaries and comments has been well worth $25.
If by volunteering you mean
Advice was not really what I needed, I was not prepared to take on this entire project myself and Chad stepped up and volunteered to take on the biggest part, in my opinion, which was the OOT shipping.
So I do believe it is fair to state that I went with a person who felt he could shoulder this part of the project.
I'm sorry you don't like the way it was done. Too bad you didn't volunteer to take this project on. I do not do this for a living and approached this the way I saw fit. We sorted out the orders, we got the money done, and I completed every part of this project that I took on as quickly as I could. I was patient with the money and ALL of the criticism. Just an FYI, over 300 shirts were "spoken for" in our first diary to assess how many people wanted shirts and we ended up with 60 shirts.
So, I believe I have endured more than MY share of criticism and perhaps you can understand why now, I am starting to get frustrated with all of this.
I know you all spent your money, so did I. I want to get this figured out because of this and I am trying to do this as quickly as possible.
Unbelievable
I ordered 3 shirts, one each for myself, my sister and my brother-in-law. Of course, what we really want is to finally see our BCB shirts, but if that doesn't happen don't worry about sending our refund -- just add the money to whatever is going to Project 3000.
Thanks, Adam.

Thank you Barb
Maybe what I will do is send the money back to everyone, donate the little from the shirts that I got to people, and then Al can set up a donation process where you all can donate.
It only seems fair that I send the money back.
You are nice to say what you said Barb.
dude
Actually, I did, in an email to you dated October 10, 2007. I did not think it contained "critical comments" or "unnecessary input". And a lot of other people were volunteering to help or even take over the process to bring it into the 21st century.
I appreciate your efforts but the martyr thing doesn't fly here.
You're not worth responding to...
Point is, you were NOWHERE to be found when the project initially got started.
So you know what you can do with you martyr comments don't you?
For people like you, who I DO in fact remember trying to be helpful (after the fact) I am not as concerned about your inconvenience. Sorry if you think I am playing a martyr...
I saw myself as soing everything I could possibly do to help resolve this matter. Save me your "helpful" insight.
And as for litigating, I was responding to the poster who seemed to be suggesting that I could be in some legal trouble.
well, FWIW
Well I certainly appreciate that.
just to clarify
that's interesting
Yes 20 shirts, that did not cost 25$
Would you have sent him the money?
Why is this so confusing. I couldn't have him ship shirts he did not have. He agreed to ship out and then collect the money (when he presented a receipt nonetheless).
Look, I did this as organized as I could and this is what we got. I am glad I kept the money so I can now gove you refunds if the shirts don't come. It sucks but what could I have done differently? For the record, Al trusted him too. Does this make my mistake any more understandable?
It does seem odd
And why would anyone (Les) agree to front the charges for shipping all those shirts with the hope of getting paid back by someone he doesn't know (a9)?
Something smells.....and it certainly appears to this outside observer (I sporadically come to this website) that azweber9 is not entirely the victim he paints himself as.

GIVE ME A FUCKIN BREAK!
KEEP YOUR FUCKIN INSIGHT TO YOURSELF! I am so fuckin sick of this shit! I wish this was one of you dealing with this shit so I could pile on my ignorant, obnoxious, self righteous BULLSHIT on your ass!
I wish I could apologize Al for my outburst but people like this are starting to really piss me OFF!
cmon guy
BS. He has the right to reply
Yeah why don't you take your own advice?
You want to explain why you think I deserve to take this bullshit from you all when I am truly the only one working (with some help from Al) to get this figured out?
Seriously, you ask yourself that? Why is this right? If you were me, would you be a bit pissed that I was taking every chance to dump my shit on you?
And as always, Jettero, thanks for your help with these people!
Hey outside observer
Well I don't know A9
At the very least it calls into serious question a9's judgement. I know I sure wouldn't trust him to make any important decisions or delegate any important tasks to.

Don't have an answer to "why"...
- Obviously he could wear them - have a nice little (almost) 3 week rotation going there. Would certainly cut down on the laundry loads.
- Could be he's a little league coach and Chico's Bail Bonds backed out at the last minute as a uniform sponsor.
- Maybe Barry Bonds caught wind of this, saw the Project 3000 connection and figured it was all about him (isn't it always?) and his quest for 3000 hits so he made an offer that Chad couldn't refuse.
- Here's one for the conspiracy theorists out there... maybe Chad is really Chris Young in disguise and he's getting back at Derrek for last season's fight.

Al, is there something you want to tell us?
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa
Well....
A t-shirt! A t-shirt! My kingdom for my two t-shirts!
My email is alexandrinapvalenya@yahoo.com for my tracking number, just to make it easier, you know.

Well
I just really want my shirts one way or another. And maybe we are all victims of a scam or a con, but for what reason? Like it has been said before, he doesn't have the money. He won't be too successful selling them anywhere online or very public. I am going to hold out hope that my shirts will magically show up in my mailbox someday. Why not at this point?
If a refund seems like the only way to make this fiasco right, I think I will pass and just donate my 60 or whatever dollars to project 3000 anyways. I have been without this money so long, that I don't miss it. Hopefully that will add to making a nice donation from BCB.
I had contact with Chad via email approx month ago
Hopefully, we'll hear something regarding the shirts from Chad soon. I'm willing to wait a little bit to see how this plays out before I request a refund or donate my money to Project 3000.
I hope so.
I do think we need to set a date though so some people don;t get frustrated further.
I don't want to make the refund process a long drawn out thing.
I hope there is good news today.
azweber9
It appears that you are the only one who has ever talked to chad. There is no proof that he is a real person.
You've never posted the final dollar numbers for the process or who you got the shirts from, which allows that perhaps you simply did not fill the out-of-town portion of the order, and no one but you, and the company you ordered from, has any way of verifying.
Good luck azweber9, like i said before, you are in a bind. Probably a bigger one than chad.

You don't have a clue.
Thank you
Jusging by some peoples' comments and input, I very well may have people thinking about litigating.
I am not too concerned because I trust that most people see the effort I have put in (such as you who has been the most helpful in offering your help and support) and will in fact, get their money back if necessary.
Thank you though, for everything you have offered thus far!
Well here is the way I see it.
I do not believe that who I get the shirts from is important because I have all my Chicago orders to verify that I, in fact had the shirts made and delivered them as promised.
As for the OOT orders, I am prepared to issue the refunds to everyone and now that you offered your insight, probably have to do so for everyone, despite their good will offers to simply donate the money, so as to clear myself of any wrongdoing.
Rest assured that I am prepared to do so and plan on it at weeks end.
As long as each out of towner gets their money back in full, there ought not be any legal concerns for me. I will certainly consult a lawyer if necessary though.
I appreciate your input but i do think this will get resolved one way or another. I say it again and again, I want this to get doen for those invested as well as the fact that this has consumed over 8 months of my life and I would like it to succeed.
How do you spell Chad's last name
i'd hate to see you
but even if you do refund money to everyone who got a shirt, there is still the issue of the stolen shirts. a crime has still been committed.
the only insight i offered is that the sooner you make as much as possible transparent the better off you are. keep your ducks in a row. good luck.

"no proof that he's a real person"
I'm just a bystander - I didn't lose any money - but this is pretty interesting stuff. I still believe that Chad simply doesn't have the money to pay upfront shipping for all those shirts, like he thought he would, and he's embarrassed by that.
Chad Samaytis
the cell phone # is an IL cell phone.
Yes, that's correct.
Well, I called the Franklin Templeton
According to his resume on Monster
Chad's number is (309) 853-7414. Address is 1933 Oyster Catcher Lane #714 Clearwater, FL 33762. Hope this helps you guys track this loser down.
Oddly enough, he also indicates that he's "dependable" and "accountable" on his resume.
Do you
If he got fired, maybe then he would come looking for you
The most logical reason
I have offered to help get it done financially
Ha, not really
FWIW, the only reason I'm posting this guy's personal information is because he's presently screwing a lot of people.
Well

Well
We'll see.

How much do you think it would cost to hire a gorilla to make a trip down to Florida...
