The Pink Backpack

Hello Fellow BCBers,

Do we know who is destined to be charged with the pink backpack, yet?  And did we ever determine whether or not it was in fact a Hello Kitty backpack?  If so, that may be the sole bargaining chip I'll have in my battle to get my daughter to watch the Cubs with me.

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.  :)

Dave

Pignatiello...

...likely gets the duty. If he doesn't make the cut, then Hart would get it, right?

p.s., I did say duty.

Jacque Jones is gone, and I doubt Ivan DeJesus would mind this!

Lieber

Wouldn't the make Lieber take it one game as he will be the "newest" cub or do they only go with age? I thought Wood had to carry it once last year?

El Toro...he is my man....

If Wood had to carry it last year

or the year before (although I don't remember that), then it's obviously based on least tenure in the Cubs' bullpen. Therefore, Lieber would be the man (if Pignatiello doesn't make the team).

I Thought The Rule Was...

... the player with the least amount of MLB service time.

Not:
- least amount of time on the Cubs
- least amount of time in the Cubs bullpen

etc.

Jacque Jones is gone, and I doubt Ivan DeJesus would mind this!

No...

...because I think Kent Mercker had to carry it a while. I seem to remember that from Cubs Nation.

Before each game, please remember to feed the bats.

The best was when they made Ohman carry it!

He deserved that.

$10

cant be beat. I went to all-of-em.

Cept on this particular day Vlad didnt play. That kid Willits was playing. And there was a pop up to the right side foul that Willits came after. That ball was about a row deep. Me and my 3 friends were right there in the 1st row and we were yelling 'You got it You got it'. Gave him ALL the room in the world. Willits caught it, looked at us, hooped and did a little toss of the ball up in his glove, turned and ran to the dugout.... with the ball. I'll never forgive him for that. Give one of us the damn ball since we gave you the courtesy!
