I think

that this site supports the researcher's premise that Cub fans are smarter.

I also think it supports the research that being a Cubs fan is addictive! Everyone here, including the cynics, are absolutely passionate.

Comment: Hi Mr. Will. I must say it is nice to read an article in Newsweek that has substance and facts attached. Well and then there's the fact that I'm an inveterate Cubfan. I think you should have included the visual cortex. Being a Cubfan means first and foremost a love for Wrigley Field. That is what is making me depressed as this season's journey is about to embark. The thought of having Wrigley torn apart. The sacrilegious thought of going to Sox Park to watch a Cub game. The thought of having Wrigley's name changed. Honestly, the losing doesnt bother me. Losing the history, the smell, the ramps, the sound of Wrigley would be a crushing blow that ECT or a case of Old Style couldn't make right. I would rather never win a World Series than have Wrigley defiled.

And then you forgot to mention the most important reason to be a Cubfan: Ron Santo. There is no more courageous man inside or outside of baseball. No one more dedicated to a sports team. Listening to Pat and Ron on WGN is what has made the last thirteen years tolerable. Without Pat and Ron and Wrigley Field, a World Series would mean absolutely nothing. Nothing. Thanks for the story.
