Open Thread: Cubs vs. Brewers, Tuesday 3/4, 2:05 CT

Pushing back returns -- so what else is new? Bruce Miles reports that Aramis Ramirez and Daryle Ward, both of whom were supposed to possibly play today, now won't return till Thursday. And Alfonso Soriano may be out "a week", instead of 3-5 days, though that doesn't seem that big a difference to me. Meanwhile, Mark DeRosa is back on the practice field and may be ready to play by early next week. That's good news.

Sam Fuld may have played poorly so far this spring and hurt his chances of making the team, but this Bruce Miles article tells us about a bigger battle he fights every day -- Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, the same disease Ron Santo played through his entire career.

Today, the Cubs-Brewers game is available on MLB Audio through the MLB.com Mediacenter. Broadcast schedule change: WGN Radio will not carry Saturday's game against Arizona, but will carry the March 27 game against Milwaukee. (Saturday's game is available on MLB.TV.)

Ryan Dempster starts for the Cubs and among the other Cubs throwing today will be Kerry Wood, making his second appearance; Claudio Vargas will go for the Brewers and be followed by Chris Narveson, Brian Shouse, Seth McClung and Steve Bray.
