The Straw that stirs the [fill in the blank]

In addition to the wonderful news that CPatterson and JHairston signed with Dusty's Reds, ESPN transactions from yesterday also reports the following:

New York Mets-- Named Darryl Strawberry special instructor.

I can think of a few unpleasant guesses as to what he is qualified to 'instruct'.

What a shame!!
Strawberry and Eric Davis were some of my favorite non-cubs when I was growing up.  What a waste of talent Strawberry was.  Him and Gooden both.

Or as Reggie Jackson said
"I'm the straw that stirs the drink. It all flows from me. Munson thinks he can be the straw that stirs the drink, but he can only stir it bad.

"See this bat? It's the dues collector. It's what puts the meat in the seats."
