Roberts a Cub finally!

Made you look.

Delete if you will. I am only trying to have a little fun with this.

A little more thought. I have an insider that has assured me that this will happen sometime prior to this (2010)year.

My insider tells me that the Cubs will trade Hendry and a six pack for him. I am only killing words in hopes that this will post for a couple of smiles from all of us Cub fans!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Haha
You certainly gave me a start. I was aiming my mouse towards my cubs.com bookmark to verify when I read the "made you look."

Question
Could you tell me the first name of this Roberts guy we just got?  Roberts is a pretty common name.  Maybe Dave Roberts?  Bip Roberts?  Leon Roberts?  Robin Roberts?

I can't believe
you posted a whole diary on this subject!  Didn't you know this same joke was made in message 273 out of 428 in the play-by-play thread, just between the messages that said, "Fukudome walked - man he's great!" and "Gamecenter is so slow!"
Soriano must leadoff... to provide adequate protection for Big Z!

Most likely
pure exhaustion of the subject matter.

Two words, my friend:
Impulse control.
Ladies and gentlemen, your 2008 Chicago Cubs starting outfield: Soriano-Pie-Fukudome. Let it be.

Yes
don't send me into the super market hungry and stoned, I lose all impulse control.

Never had it never will, just no fun:)

This Diary Comes Out...

Twisted
Mind I might have. In fact I have no impulse control with a twisted mind. Scary stuff to have. You would think there are pills to correct this sort of disability.

In defense
If we can have a daily T-Shirt diary then I guess it makes sense a daily Roberts diary is made as well.

by ak123 on Mar 5, 2008 10:32 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

How about
a T-Shirt with Roberts face on it. That way you can kill two birds (diarys) with one stone.

It would have to be...
... a Julia Roberts T-shirt that somehow, gets lost in the mail.

How dare you
you cannot post diaries about Brian Roberts on this site.. This is embarrassing. Brian Roberts isn't to be talked about.

I mean talk about Ronnie Woo-Woo or Sammy Sosa if you must but never Brian Roberts.

by cubsfan2883 on Mar 5, 2008 12:03 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Awh
my BCB friend. You are assuming I was referring to Brian but see above. All along it was Julia. Love the loop holes.

Oh
I would have much preferred Brian.. He's better looking and less of a whore.. and his movie career probably has been a bit better as well.

In fact why not just give us Dread Pirate Roberts..

Is this the
cubs.com message board now? I don't think I've ever criticised someone's diary before, because you can choose not to look at it if you want. But this is juvenile, not particularly funny, and a waste of my time. I hope things like this don't become commonplace, or I'll find someplace new for Cubs news/discussion.

by jazzypete on Mar 5, 2008 2:14 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

grumpypete has spoken.
As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

by santoswoodenlegs on Mar 5, 2008 2:24 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

But you posted to it...
so what does that really say?

Come on, you and the other non-likers. It's not like you didn't know the subject. Don't like it? Don't post. But don't say you can't stand it, or its a waste of time because unless you have some form of telepathic power to place text on this site in a nano-second, it took you at least half the amount of time to read a portion of the diary and post your own comment.

by blackhawk24 on Mar 5, 2008 3:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

It reminds me of
Every once in a while an e-mail at work will go out to a mailing list of 1000's of people by mistake, and dozens of people reply to everyone, saying, "why am I getting this" and not stopping to think that a mailing list might not be just one person  . . . .

You're right, blackhawk.  Best bet is to ignore it.

I am sorry
you feel that way. I am a fun loving guy and I thought it was just a light hearted attempt to lighten up things. I certainly did not intend to ruffle any feathers.

by wild bill on Mar 5, 2008 4:15 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Why are you sorry
It's an innocent comment. There are WAY TOO MANY overly sensitive folks here.

I'll reiterate for others: Commenting on a diary that you don't like the diary and the diary is stupid just shows you're interested just enough to "waste your time" to post on said diary.

What has this country come to that someone has to apologize for a comment that is not only innocent but can not even be construed to be malicious. Talk about a slap to the 1st amendment.

BTW, FWIW I still feel Roberts is a decent acquisition. What he can do for the overall 25-man roster is as important to the lineup as it strengthens the Cubs bench.

by blackhawk24 on Mar 6, 2008 6:24 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Thank you
No I am not sorry I did the post. I am sorry that this person feels that way because they should lighten up. I think it only justifies what you are referring to. Why post on diary just to lambaste it. It makes no sense to me.

Recall Julie and her 100 songs or whatever on her IPOD. I always thought that was silly. But not once did I ever look at. I had no interest.

Sincere disagreements, great. Different ideas, bravo. But to degrade one again confuses me.

Finally the right forum
I hardly ever post because I'm always looking for the right post to post to. Well finally here it is talking about posting to a post to bi@#h about a post that is bi@#hing about a post, wow this is something we all can sink our teeth into.
I gotta say I wish I had been around when the shirts went on sale just so I could have been part of the fun bcb shirt gang. (btw I also have law enforcement family in FL if backup is needed.)
Now for my gratuitus stuff

Al: this is a great site don't change a thing
Santoswoodenlegs: outstanding pictures I've been stealing them right and left.
Azweber9: Lots of people owe you an apology
and to everyone else even if I'm not a big fan of your post's personally I gotta say ya'll keep it interesting.
