Need more serviceman addresses

I recently got this photo from gaclaudy, one of our servicemen in Iraq and a BCB member. He said it was just fine with him if I posted the photo.

I was able to send him one of my 2007 Cubs World Series tickets that you can see in the frame.

Maybe by the time you read this he will planning his trip back to the states.

I still have a couple more 2007 Playoff tickets to send out - and my empty 2008 Season ticket booklets - if anyone knows any servicemen that would like them.

Side note - My own Marine is going out to his PDS MCAS Miramar next week and if there are any BCB members that can tell us what to expect when he gets there, his mom and I would appreciate it. The 3rd MCAW site just says the Wing is the Rapid Deployment center and to expect anything. My son says, "I just go where they send me."

I always told my parents
that they shouldn't expect to hear from me, not to take this personally, and that, generally speaking, no news, especially once he is deployed, is good news. He'll contact you when he can, and, unless he's at a forward operating base, the capabilities to communicate are pretty good. While he's at Miramar, he should be able to access e-mail and phones, unless he's in a really tight "operational security" situation. I'm not sure, as I deployed from Camp Pendelton. Some stuff (departure dates, duration of deployment, etc.) me just may not be able to tell you, especially over the phone or the internets. It's a tough situation, and I don't envy the turmoil you must be going through, but having a family back home that as supportive as you seem to be is going to be huge for him, both while he's away and when he gets back. Tell him  "Semper Fi" from a jarhead that's played in the sandbox a few times himself.

Miramar is part of the same command as Pendleton..
...and they've got plenty of phones down there, I would assume. (Never been to Miramar either; didn't meet up with the wing until we were in country.)

True.
I was only at Miramar for the helo dunker, but it is a fully equipped base. I just don't know how tight opsec is for these guys. The phones are there, they just might not be able to use them. That's all I was really saying.

Thanks for the post

Howdy from the Desert
Hello to all BCB'ers

Everything here in VBC is fine, just been extremely busy with things.  I will be going on my R&R leave next month and should be home around the All Star game, in which I would to see at least 4 of my Cubbies, to include Z throwing the first pitch for the NL team.  I still have my present sitting over my shoulder.

Thank you,

Guy
